Yeah but I feel he needs to really be balling out to jaw a lot. I was just always the type to talk smack only after a difference making play. Not for just gaining 3 yards or actually doing my job tackling someone. But, everyone is different. I think Taylor might get his head smacked for it at some point. He definitely was making plays last night, I will say that! He was a bully on that run defense play

A cornerback should have a bit of a bully mentality, otherwise he will be over-run by someone with a Jennings attitude.

For real though that catch by Brandon was epic. I expect more jump balls in the endzone for him in coming games.

Stats that stand out:
--2 turnovers. Defense made plays and offense held onto the ball. Pruitt’s identity as DC at Bama was his guys playing aggressive at the right times and taking the ball away and turning it into points. So happy to see a pick six
-2.5 rushing YPC for SC. They definitely had some good runs, but no huge plays with a defense with a lot of new guys is so refreshing.
-4 sacks for the defense. Not jaw dropping, but I had lots of concerned about our pass rush without Taylor but the guys really stepped up, especially DJ
-6.6 YPC for Chandler. I feel like many of us may have moved on from him as Gray blew up last year, but maybe that set a fire under his ass and he worked his tail off this offseason
-61.3 % through the air and NO turnovers for JG. You guys have already beat the horse corpse on this but I was generally impressed with his play.

You guys have covered most of everything else, but just some things I was impressed with from looking at the stat sheet

First games are always, first games. This year, much different.

You know what else is different, effort, attitude, and an actual team of kids committed to playing together.

Effort. Alontae Taylor's effort, might be the difference between To'To' getting 7, and our offense getting 3. Pure attitude and effort by the defense in that return especially Taylor. Play of the game.

We are young and we are going to get better. QB play will be the glaring reason for more or less success, as of now. Let's see this weekend.

Be proud and be happy and be excited. For the first time in many, many years, I like what I saw, it wasn't perfect and it wasn't going to be, but, we showed consistently, that we can play and we have players.
