Yes...note that the team played with more emotion and more as a team once a few of Butch's players were cleared from the team....I believe that was a part of it as well....now, ask me again in 36 hours and see if I have changed my mind.Flushing the Butch, there was that.
Man, I wanted to give this a like, as I too used to like SC, but that was before Holtz, Spurrier, and Mustard Chimp (dadgum autocorrect!).I used to like SC. Usually a good game, they play tough and I like them being in the SEC. I even liked them when Spurrier was there. But I can't stand Muschump. Hope we smoke em'! But I hope they do well enough throughout the year to keep Muschamp there....so we can smoke em' again at home next year. I just want us to drive that guy nuts.
Covid played a huge role in the QB position this Spring. HB has hardly had any practice time in a system which is new to him. I still strongly believe HB has the best talent on the team, but one can not throw him into battle until he has some gained some experience with the system and players. I think we win 6-7 games with JG and am not sure we could win more with any other QB under the circumstances. This is exactly what has most people worried about our season and why ESPN has us predicted to win 3 games. He is, unfortunately, the best we have which isn't saying much at all.
I'll throw a shoutout to @Freak. This board shines even brighter after visiting that turd the Gamecocks call a message board. Thanks for having this digital soapbox and thanks to the posters here for actually discussing our football team.
Lot of complaining about kicking field goal instead of going for it, blaming the kid who touched the punt (apparently he's a highly regarded recruit who has disappointed), questioning the decision not to go for block on punt, not fielding punt and having more than one guy deep on the punt.
