Year 4 ... Same Old JG

JG showed tonight that he is the guy to lead this offense. When we had a lead built up, and our defense let us down, allowing SCar back into the game with a serious threat to comeback. But JG and the offense stayed calm, and were able to do enough to win the game.

Happy for our offense, hopefully the defense can get it together for next week. As for tonight, I'm thankful we had a QB that didn't make a mistake when the momentum was completely against us.

JG managed the game in spite of poor play. If I'm Pruitt, I'm looking more to the future. I'm thinking about benching JG and developing one of my other QB's for the future. That may have happened if HB had gotten reps in the spring. We probably lose that game if one of our relatively inexperienced QB's was our starter. Maybe we can put up some big numbers early on Mizzou and get some reps for someone else.

Defense missed Solomon and Shamburger tonight. We need better Safety play but good defensive effort minus those 2.

I’m with everyone....but us, we, coaches, the other team......everyone knows what JG is......and its the coaches who continue to play him.

I don’t know what “else” they have right now. Well I know who they have, but you get the drift......you know the thing.

No, Pruitt isn’t blind to it, but realizes that JG gives us the best chance to win now. The backups are not very good. Hopefully, Bailey will be the one to change that. Just hasn’t had enough practice reps to know.

Exactly. No one is saying JG is a superstar. He's simply the best we have. And he performed well enough tonight to get us a win, especially in the 4th quarter.

We have before, and we can again. It's the 1st game. And we're on a 7-game win streak, longest streak in the country. He may not be Joe Burrow, but he's the best we've got and performed well at the end of the game when the momentum had switched to SC's favor.
If that’s the best we got, TN is in a bad situation. Happy for the W but dang it man...#2 maybe had 2 good throws all night. Receivers bailed him out when they could get their hands on the ball. Run game improve but it was f’n south crackalackie.

JG is not the guy. SC is terrible, SC defense is terrible. We had enough talent to score 60 tonight. The outcome was uncertain until the muffed punt we recovered. JG’s poor play almost got us beat tonight in a game we should of won by 28 points minimum. The SC program is in freefall. Muschamp will likely be gone in 2021

Sure he was off, threw it high......but we know this before he throws the first pass.

truth. and coach said as much post game. at least acknowledged the high balls. It's just... it's just I still wear my Erik Ainge #10 jersey because we haven't had a reliable passer like him since. we haven't been back to the SEC championship since Ainge. I sure would love to trade up jerseys at some point.

Shamburger should be back soon though, right?

One for nine on 3rd down conversions. Won’t beat a good team doing that and a lot of that is on Jarrett. He simply has to be better. Having said that, if Shrout or Maurer we’re any good at all, one of them would be the starter. Warts and all, Pruitt knows Jarrett is the best chance we have until Bailey gets ready.

To be fair, 2 big throws were dropped. Though it is obvious that JG still has a problem overthrowing receivers. Hopefully it's just 1st game jitters. Otherwise, I was happy with the performance. Especially late game.

Thing some folks are missing is your not going beat bama, au,uf, uga with well we missed wide open people high all night long.
