Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Over 300 schools nationwide reporting. Confirmed cases are 0.076% in students and 0.15% in teachers. So, that’s quite a bit “leas than 1%.”

And then the article experts then flip the narrative and say its up to individual school districts attitude toward risk whether they should open fully or not.
they have to keep the fear machine going

Like me, he probably spends a lot of his day doing drug/alcohol/tobacco-avoidance counseling, family evaluations, and mental health screens. Oh, and don't get me started on physical health/obesity/metabolic syndrome care.
So you are familiar with the DSM and you have been doing some of those thing remotely? Tell me something, do you wear a mask when you have to go evaluate a kid? Do you screech at the facility because they require one to be worn and tell them how wrong they are? Why yes I do have experience as a dual diagnosis counselor.

You've always got to remember that these are the same people that think chopping off one's genitals, pretending to be a cat person, and dressing kids in drag are normal activities. There is no mental illness to them, so mental illness can't be a result of all this because it doesn't exist.

Since we don’t the OT thread and this was ar a football game last night, check this out...

Put a mask on if it’s not a health issue. It’s not that dang difficult. Also, when we see someone on TV not obeying law enforcement, the typical response I think of is just follow instructions and cooperate with law enforcement. This young lady could have walked to her car, got her mask and went on about her day. We can’t have it both ways, it’s just a damn mask. How hard is it to wear it if you're able to.

My best suggestion to any person thinking the time to take a stand on any given issue is when an arresting officer is putting cuffs on you, may wish to reconsider. Just a helpful tip. Also, find a good lawyer.

We can engage the debates, perhaps officer could have asked her to walk away from kids first? Issued a ticket? Which will likely prompt a warrant upon non payment. Perhaps he did that. He hs a job to do. And you better listen peeps.

Could she have though? We didn't see the entire situation unfold, but from the video, it looked like the officer went up to her and immediately used forceful arrest rather than reasoning. She should have been given the option to put on a mask or leave the OUTDOOR, SOCIALLY DISTANCED stadium. Forceful arrest was overboard. Tasing was overboard.

Of course she could have. We all know the officer didn't approach her ready to arrest. We all know the conversation started something like this, "Ma'am everyone is required to wear a mask at this event, could you please put your mask on"? She got offended, embarrassed and showed her ass and it didn't turn out well for her.

Regardless, there is NEVER a time to resist arrest. It's on all of us to deescalate a situation, not just law enforcement. If we disagree (and everyone has that right) work it within the law. Going back again to the beginning, yes we didn't see the situation unfold from the start but the bottom line is resisting arrest is something you should never do.

1. What's a DSM?

Kidding, you moron. One of my undergraduate degrees is in Psychology and I use DSM criteria all day when treating kids with ADHD, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, etc.

2. What is this "remotely" thing you speak of? I've been in my office and hospital seeing patients every 190-something days of "15 days to slow the spread." Does that count?

3. I don't have to "screech" at anyone, as I own my practice and don't answer to corporate execs who spend their day behind a desk, out of touch with the real world.

4. I wear a mask out of courtesy when parents are, and I wear one when evaluating sick/febrile kids (which is customary). Many parents do not, and they seem quite pleased that I don't require it if they are well.

Interesting that many folks don't support the police enforcing laws against drugs, rioting, looting and violence, but boy when it comes to those heinous non-mask wearers, everybody better listen to and respect the police.

Covid is the 3 leading cause of death in the United states. It's not suicide, Drug abuse, anxiety, depression or social isolation. You're not able to see the forest for the marginalized trees. The people most socially isolated are the ones at a higher risk level for covid death.
Its number 3 and about 1/3 of number 2 and 1. Why aren't you freaking out 3 times as much about those deaths?

FastStats

In most southern states its number 6 or lower.
Novel Coronavirus

Stats of the State of Tennessee

In TN its number 7.

About 2/3 of number 6 and 1/8 of number one.

Again your freakout and lock down are WAY overblown. I guess those deaths dont matter to you because they dont let you control people.

Last thing I’ll say about the video bc we DO have football in two days...which I will happily be attending!!
The girl had a mask in her pocket, it’s not a law in Ohio to wear one, but a mandate from the governor.
I don’t know what happened prior to the video being taken, but I also believe this was a security guard and not an actual cop. This happened local and FB is in a uproar about it, and some present say this was a rent a cop, you can see the real cop come in towards the end...not wearing a mask mind you.
Had it been me and a rent a cop, I probably woulda told him to eff off.
Real cop, would have happily taken my mask out, if I had one and put it on just to not cause a scene in front of kids and peers.

Now GBO!!! WGWTFA!!!
