Yeah that's my biggest worry. It seems that they both ALWAYS won the 50/50 balls. USC in particular we didn't have the most "sustained" drives but MC and JJ were just straight up torching their CBs deep.
That’s why you picked up Wideman. He’s that kind of receiver. Hyatt will give us what Callaway did with a pinch handful more speed. Don’t worry your pretty little heads.

I think it’s extremely likely they didn’t “break the rule” but Sankey was told by the ADs the rule was being changed.

one issue I see is the SEC I am sure is expecting open free agency to hit college athletics next year and I bet they don’t want to allow that within the league.
I’m sure that’s the hesitation. I think the league should pass a rule that limits the amount of transfers a program can take in a given year to limit this in the league. Then players can transfer once without losing eligibility, but some teams aren’t just trying to take all the lesser teams best players.

Only 1 man need make this call and that is Ray_UGA. He is the hero we deserve right now.

Eric Ainge says he’s “sick” over the Sankey quote, he went on to say something along the lines of knowing something about UGA and/or the SEC and that if the SEC doesn’t clear Mays then he’ll announce the info that he has.
That’s almost enough to make me hope he doesn’t get cleared. I would love to know the dirt on them.

IF Sankey is going to go full Pu$$y on this, then he should be made to give his ruling and make it official by being interviewed/quoted.... So he may be going against the NCAA... the man can't hide behind the other crap... If you are going to deny, then you have to say it flat out and give your reasons... it's your job and you get paid well to do it...

If denied, one wonders what Cade might do. If he kept practicing with the team, it would be cool to see him in a bowl game, assuming they happen and ours comes after the end of the semester, once he's met the 2 full semesters residency requirement. Even better if we get to Atlanta and we can send the SEC a big FU.

Looks like it's all but official that Cade Mays will not suit up this year. We have a bit of depth but still a huge blow to our OL....

Sankey cites league rule in addressing SEC transfer questions

@MetalVolunteer
I think Sankey cracks. There's 14 schools in the SEC, and some are getting tired of him only looking out for 2 or 3 of those teams. I think Mays gets cleared. I think Reese has a good chance. Not so sure about Gatewood. The Mays and Reese situations are making Kirby look bad. I like that. Hopefully recruits take notice.
