Probably just looking for somewhere to play or maybe had something to do with some academic things.

Wow. Chaney basically states that part of JG's problem has been that he didn't know the progression of routes on pass plays and where to look to properly read the defense...as a redshirt Junior. That instills a lot of confidence.

So would that coaching? Or lack of effort in the QB room?....Both?

Eligibility requirements still exist. Just doesn’t count against the time clock. If it was a true free for all, nothing would stop anyone from plucking a high school player and plopping him on the roster.
