I believe Cuomo has all his eggs in one basket and is rolling the dice on Biden becoming POTUS and him getting the billions federal relief he wants for NYC . It will be interesting to see what he does if Trump wins because he has screwed NYC in that case .

Except for engineers, few people study feedback and control theory and understand how a response time lag often results in conflicting or over controlling new inputs while a system is still responding to initial inputs. There are great video examples like a pilot attempting to land a prototype F-22 at Edwards AFB and a Swede pilot who rolled a Gripen prototype into a little ball on landing. Systems (like diseases) that have a long response time (particularly when transmission is initially decoupled from symptoms) are likely the most frustrating because there's too much time for second guessing within the various communities (medical, political, and public) as to what is working and what isn't - so they all work at odds with each other. Many jump on the most recent input as the one that made change when the actual input effecting change was an earlier one. Modern society isn't built to cope with anything that doesn't result in instant gratification.

This is the current data from the Department of Labor. The national unemployment rate is 8.5% there is only 15 states that are above the national average and I am pretty sure 14 of the 15 are Dem states and most of them have been lockdown states. If you opened their economies up and they returned to our current national average of 8.5% our unemployment rate would be in the 5% range. The current lockdown in NY is mostly political.

Your hospital doesn’t require that employees get a flu shot? That’s surprising to me, as many do these days. I’ll be getting mine in the next week or two.

I have had two separate doctors I know tell a whole group to stay away from the flu shot this year.

There are so many overlapping and sometimes conflicting inputs that can't be decoupled from the infectious trend that there's virtually no way to determine what has or hasn't worked. We can't even find agreement about simple issues like whether "anecdotal" treatment worked as a treatment - and that's far simpler.
