If the kids or the parents are willing to do that to each other over a politician that at the very most has 8 years in office and will then be out of your life ... The proper priorities were never instilled into them and they will one day , while reflecting on the things they’ve done or said in their lifetime , come to regret that they ever put that proposition out on the table .

Maybe so... Doesn't mean eveybody wants to hear grandpa rant and rave about it every time they show up for Sunday dinner. If every trip to my parents house devolved into politics, i probably wouldn't visit often, no matter what there views are.

Edit: I'll admit I haven't read the article because there was no link, but I can see a couple of scenarios that might be going on.

You’d be surprised at how little politics are discussed in the Pickens home. Other than on VN, I do my best to avoid discussing or thinking about how screwed up the country is right now.

My father recently passed away, and I would trade so much for just five more minutes with him. That person is a real piece of excrement who will regret his choices terribly one day if he grows any shred of humanity.

It’s been 6 years for me and my dad , but still seems like yesterday and I agree completely.
