You should check out Cebu or Bacolod or Makati.

Cebu has beautiful beaches like the Gulf and Bacolod is very close to their top beaches.

We own a home outside of Bacolod. Very peaceful and very inexpensive.

I met Bob, King Richard Petty and Buddy Baker in a small Anniston AL restaurant eating breakfast. There were like 4 other patrons in there besides us. I spoke to them when they walked in, they all came over and talked to us. Seger was there to sing Star Spangled Banner at Talladega. It made our day.

I saw Buddy Baker years ago - must have been 1976. I was in LA doing some reactor coolant pump testing, and that night I was putting my wife on a plane to return home. He was boarding the same plane, but I wouldn't have approached him if I'd spotted him in time. He'd had a bad day at Riverside and likely not in a very good mood. Either everybody else was thinking the way I was or nobody else recognized him. I always felt he was one of NASCAR's best - at least most interesting. NASCAR might have a future if the new guys in the sport were like the old guys - those guys were always entertaining - on track or off.

Pretty big and definitely taller than the rest of the crowd - not somebody you'd want to tangle with. I have no doubt that his size was what first caught my attention. I used to occasionally walk and talk with Bob Johnson (TN and NFL lineman) on the way to ROTC class - could have had something to do with the years that passed, but I guess I thought Buddy Baker would have been the more intimidating of the two.

Two guys that I shook hands with that had HUGE hands were Doug Atkins and Big John Tate. I put Atkins' championship ring on 2 fingers of mine up to the knuckle. I believe that he said it was a size 16 or 18, maybe.

Wow, hadn't thought about Frankie in a while but 86 is almost a ripe old age.
I find it fascinating that younger people are just now getting turned onto voices of the past. Couple of my favorites are Patsy Cline and Roy Orbison.
I grew up with Fats Domino and Motown. Then Sunday morning was gospel at the crack of hoggs wife.

Ford is gonna sell about 3 million Broncos though. 5 or 6 different models/trims...you can change between 3 or 4 engines, several transmissions including a manual for 2021, several suspensions all the way up to "Boulder crawler" its insane. Pretty much have anything between a zippy equivalent of a 4cyl wrangler and an unstoppable rock crawler with an interior like a new Lexus and everything in between. I was amazed. Figured Ford was gonna half-arse it like most things these days...it seems like they built the most capable off road SUV straight off the showroom floor that has ever been built. I can't wait to see them compete with the new Jeeps, Land Rovers, Toyota 4wds, etc...I

Roy Orbison is hard to equal on In Dreams, I Drove All Night, Crying, etc. Did you listen to Burton Cummings? I swear there is a video of him singing both our national anthem and Canada's at a couple of hockey games that will bring tears to your eyes.

Very sorry to read this... I can only imagine the anxiety you are going through. Let's all pray for the best outcome. I'm sorry, I don't have better words to express.
