Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Then stop insulting me and acting like you know what you're talking about. I have tried to keep politics out of my comments in this thread, yet that's your knee-jerk attack. Have you considered that I just *might* take great interest and invest an incredible amount of time into the study and practice of medicine?

What do you think the curves in NY, Sweden, and Italy resemble? Why would you think a vaccine is the answer, but natural immunity is not? Do you think Americans are going to line up for q 3-6 month CV vaccines within a few months of their development? Are you privy to inside information about mass infection and causalities in children and younger/healthy adults that is hidden from the medical professionals?

I'm assuming you were, at least, able to Google the pathophysiology of shingles.
No, you've not kept your politics out of this

I'm not sure where exactly you think I am involving politics in the discussion, but I'll continue to try to keep things objective, here.

I would like to hear your responses on shingles, anti-vaccination hotspots/preventable-disease outbreaks, and the questions in the second paragraph of my most recent post.

This is not my field but don't start beating your chest as right about herd immunity and your threshold.

He’s not beating his chest. He gave you specific areas where he thinks it has been/or close to being achieved. You can present evidence to dispute his conclusions.

Trust me: there's not been any chest-beating around here. I am just trying to figure out how we can get through this thing with the least damage possible. I've dealt with awful ****, too. I can't give details, but my friends and staff have endured family loss and severe illness. I love those girls like family, so it hurts.

There's a lot about how an agent infects the body that I don't know - like does a small amount of covid intake spark an immune response like we've managed with diseases like small pox, or does it just multiply in situ until the limited original intake not matter. That's something I'd love to see addressed by people researching infectious diseases. There's got to be a middle ground between brain damaging medical research journals and the political hype that the "news" media put out.

In the meantime I personally am treating covid transmission pretty much like radiation exposure - time, distance, and shielding. There's a lot of serious calculus involved to cover spatial and time distribution from a source, but it really boils down to limiting exposure (time), distance means that unfocused non-directional transmission reaches an uptake point in lesser quantities due to spread, and shielding refers to what you can put between you and the source to block the radiation - or contaminant in this case.

I cared for my wife when she had covid (she tested positive and I was negative when she became sick). Disinfecting surfaces and the above (mask for shielding) worked out for me - even with direct contact when she was too weak to move on her own. Perhaps not everybody would come out safe following those guidelines; however, I am 74 with mild asthma and cardiovascular issues, so not in what you would normally consider the most immune from infection. When I must, I take my chances in stores but not without a mask, and recreation around others is out.

In their homes? What a dumbass

I generally agree with you. If a family member has covid or you get a kid back from college after being ejected for being stupid, I'd definitely go on the side of caution and mask on when nearby. For how long is the question. The best we could find was that after my wife was fever free without something to bring down a fever, my 14 day isolation clock started. Since we were the only two in the house and she had just recovered, the masks got put away at that point (for in house use). It did feel strange wearing a mask in the house, though; but immensely better than feeling how she had been. I've seen enough of kids bringing stuff home from school and daycare that I'm happy not having a kid at home right now.

Well my youngest had a runny nose and got sent home yesterday. No neg test required but he has to be symptom free to return (which he did today). I understand caution and am not going to say much since they're open at least. However kids are going to get regular sick with a child or allergies and we should start to recognize that
Off with his nose!

At this point; I don't know how anyone could trust what FAUCI says. We KNOW he is in bed with Big Pharma, and we KNOW his NIH sent Millions to the Lab in WUHAN. At least some of us know that; those that venture for the truth. SMDH at all the Fauci love. To continually Deny the Effectiveness of a drug (Hydroxychloroquine) that HE issued a very positive report on (2005 NIH) concerning it's Treatment and Prevention of the SARS virus (Of which covid is a variety) is as corrupt as they come. ,AND to deny patients the use of said drug is tantamount to MURDER. This guy is in Gates' Circle and they obviously have a Forced Vaccination Agenda, and will allow NOTHING to interfere with that; Including as many Deaths as Necessary to Instill Fear and make us BEG for their Vaccine. Google Trans-Humanism. That is the Ultimate Goal. Sheep -----------

So now its a casedemic, first it was slow the curve for hospitals, then it was deaths now its cases in which most are asymptomatic through contact tracing. Just like with Russia, this thing is about dead

Yeah, until they send some more Infected "Visitors" into Nursing Homes. A Friend has a Brother (Immobile) in a Nursing home and he JUST LAST WEEK was diagnosed with covid. NO VISITORS WERE ALLOWED Since the Outbreak started; like 6 months ago. So HOW? Another Nurse I Know who works In N H took a two week vacation and when she went back; EVERYONE on her floor was Deceased! This is not here say. This is First Hand. Reeks of depopulation. Vaccine may REALLY take 'em out.

Our kid also had sinus/allergy stuff so we kept him home because if he even coughs or sniffles at daycare they make you pick them up immediately and you can’t return without a doctor’s note. Ragweed and goldenrod are about to go nuts, maybe they’re planning on sending every kid home?
