Souce's Coffee Discussion Thread

In theory it's pretty much like using a Coffee maker. I could just remove the filter holder from my machine, put a filter and the coffee in it, set it on top of my cup and pour hot water over it?

Absolutely. The slower you go the better, but patience has never been one of my strong suits. The slower you pour the more flavor it pulls out of the beans.

I just put the beans in the pot, use an immersion blender to grind and then dump in hot water. Pour slowly to keep from getting grounds in the cup.

Since Bill is mostly interested in the buzz, here's what I think.

Make a pot. Drink your cup then go for a ride. When you get back the leftover has cooled. Pour it in ice trays and freeze it. After they freeze put them in a zip lock. Next time you want a cup, take two out, put them in a cup and nuke it. Boon!

Chemex. I buy the unbleached filters from Whole Foods or Amazon. I can compost all of it. I boil my water in a stainless steel kettle. No hot water interacting with plastic on any of my shiz.
