True ... and Obama would be the first to admit that. Obama has laughed it off. He hasn't handled the award as some sort of serious validation. Trump on the other hand, has been publicly lobbying (begging at times) to be awarded a Nobel Peace Prize. It's kind of pathetic.LOL .... Obama got a Nobel Peace Prize for just breathing some air .... not for any kind of great accomplishment.

Those would be known as "Trump's circles", where handing over Northern Syria to Putin and Erdogan is thought of as a master stroke of genius, and a great accomplishment in peace.LOL .... Obama got a Nobel Peace Prize for just breathing some air .... not for any kind of great accomplishment.
Obama is considered in some circles as the worst president that ever walked the halls of the WH.
Gee, he gave us Obama Care which was nothing but forced down our throats legislation only by the Democrats who were the only ones voting for such a pos law just to make Obama look worth something at his cushy job..
The Hitler nomination has already come up and the context of its sarcastic background was shown. I’d move on from the “but Hitler was nominated too!” Godwin’s Law play. But that’s just me.All that is required to be nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize is for a sitting member of a national assembly or national government of a sovereign nation, even just including a cabinet member, to submit a letter of nomination to the Nobel committee on your behalf. It was widely reported two years ago that Donald Trump solicited Shinzo Abe of Japan for a letter of nomination. It is evidently very important to him. Frivolous awards of this nature usually are important to narcissistic people.
Adolf Hitler was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize in 1939, if that gives you any idea of how meaningless it is just to be nominated.
Such as lying to the American people during a time of crisis? Misleading the American people about the seriousness of the Coronavirus? It's all on tape now. I don't think it helps him at all.It only looks pathetic in your hate filled eyes. You're jealous of what Trump has done for the American people where Obama spit on the American people. Trump is 1K times better than that worthless Obama. He wasted 8 years of his time doing nothing for America. Obama gave us Trump....it's his fault and the way he ran the country that Trump is your President.
I'm aware of the story... and how it was just sarcastic in nature. However, it still demonstrates that literally anyone can be nominated. The Hitler nomination has already come up and the context of its sarcastic background was shown. I’d move on from the “but Hitler was nominated too!” Godwin’s Law play. But that’s just me.
Scroll down to the 1939 year.

Hitler’s nomination was a joke. How many times do I have to post this?...Adolf Hitler was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize in 1939, if that gives you any idea of how meaningless it is just to be nominated.
Hitler Gets Nominated – Kind of
Though Hitler banned anyone from Germany receiving the award, he might have made an exception for one person – himself. In 1939, Adolf Hitler was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize – kind of. It was actually a joke. Erik Gottfried Christian Brandt, a member of the Swedish Parliament, nominated Adolf Hitler for the award right before World War II would begin. Brandt wrote a letter to the Norwegian Nobel Committee that opened with:
“To the Norwegian Nobel Committee
I hereby humbly suggest that the Peace Prize for 1939 is awarded the German Chancellor and Führer Adolf Hitler, a man, who in the opinion of millions of people, is a man who more than anyone in the world has deserved this highly prestigious reward.”
Brandt was an anti-fascist and saw the nomination as a joke. Thus, he quickly took back his nomination for Hitler to win the award. He would go on to say that it was more of a critique of another nomination in that same year, British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain.

No, Adolf Hitler didn’t go on to win the nomination. In fact, as previously stated, no one did. From 1939-1943, there would be no winners of the Nobel Peace Prize.
Backlash
Even though the nomination was quickly taken back, it still churned out plenty of backlash. Brandt would go on to be labeled as many things, such as insane and a traitor. He was taken aback, and released the response in which he stated it all was meant to be an ironic joke.
The Nobel Peace Prize has always been full of controversy. Since its inception, each award has been criticized due to the nature of how it’s awarded. Adolf Hitler’s nomination may have been a joke, but it makes you wonder, what would have happened if he had actually been nominated. What if he had won? It would have been truly ironic, with World War II starting, that, arguably, the main cause of the war, had won a Peace prize.
As I said in the other post, it still serves as a demonstration of how literally ANYONE can be nominated.Hitler’s nomination was a joke. How many times do I have to post this?

Well, with all due respect... first off, congratulations on these two countries for resolving any issues they may have had. But in the general scheme of things, the Israeli-Bahraini rivalry isn't that high on the all time list... Israel-Syria, Israel-Iran, Turkey-Greece, India-Pakistan, India-China... I would say Trump would need to do a bit more to earn a Nobel nomination.
