I don't remember exactly what he said, but it was after he beat us as the USC HC and said he loves seeing our fans disappointed faces.

To be fair though, as the game ended, the UT student section was pretty obnoxious at him, with a 'F U, Muschamp' chant, so I didn't really blame him for the comment at the time. He's actually pretty humorous in most post game press conferences I have seen, and has always been respectful to UT. I just think in the heat of the moment while still on the field, with those chants still ringing in his ears, he was just taking a parting shot at those students chanting at him. Don't get me wrong; I love to poke fun at him because he does lose it on the sidelines about as colorfully as any coach in football, but I give him a pass on that comment.

Wienke saying JG's "anticipation" has improved considerably gives me a bit of hope. Part of that is innate, some QB’s just can see the play as it develops better, but a larger part is learned. Plus, you have to trust your receivers to see what you are seeing. JG can do it; we saw it in the biggest play of the bowl game. With Vols desperately needing a big play late in the game, Indiana blitzes the boundary side corner. JG sees it, and Palmer sees it and sits down in the area the CB vacated instead of continuing his route into the safety that is rolling over. Big catch and then we get the 15 yards tacked on for the face mask and it was just a different Tennessee team from there to the finish. JG can do it; the question is will he do it and do it consistently. As for me? Heck as the Monkey’s once said, “I’m a believer, I couldn’t leave her (UT) if I tried!” GBO

Easy to forget that JG has had to learn 3 different schemes in his career while playing against some of the best defenses in the country in the SEC.

I’m not going with a full throated defense of JG, but there’s not a player I want to succeed more than that guy.

VQ podcast is not giving me good vibes on this season. Probably time to accept that whatever record we have this year doesn’t really matter

What are they saying?
Other schools aren’t being as careful as we are. We haven’t even had a true scrimmage yet, whereas some schools (UGA for sure) have had two. Quarantine lasts for two weeks so those 44 guys that’re our right now are going to miss two weeks of practice. Season is less than three weeks away

It might just be splitting hairs, but it should be noted that it is not Pruitt and Co who are being "careful" it is local and state health officials who are making the rules and forcing the caution.

But with all of that said, it can put Tennessee at a great disadvantage and everyone should be playing by the same rules IMO.

Our recruiting is going well. If we start to tank on the field then recruiting can only decline. That concerns me more than the record.

It’s a throwaway season like you said unless we win something of merit, then suddenly it absolutely counts as a legitimate season.
