Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

Welp, I'm whooped. McRib's car needed brakes, alignment, fluids changed, and her AC fixed.
Brakes? Check
Alignment? Check; thanks to CO-OP
Oil? Check
Trans fluid? Check.
AC?....nope. fuses and relays are good. New compressor. AC clutch still wont engage.

Frustrating. Looks like a mechanic's bill is in my future.

Crystal Gale. Wow!

While getting my butt kicked by the car, I was listening to classic country on spotify. "Don't it make my brown eyes blue" by CG played. I vaguely remember it as a kid. But man, that gal has an effortless voice. No strain at all. I found myself just sitting and listening.

I remember her & that song. She was one of those gals that let her hair grow down to her ankles.

She won't need air in a month. Tell her to wait until next year.

Hey man, we loved the cape! Saw a woman drown, helped hold her after a woman gave her CPR and got her breathing until the ambulance got there, but she made it. Other than that, it was a great vacation.

Been a while since I've done much of anything under the hood, but I'm assuming the new compressor is a compressor/clutch assembly? If so, are you sure the new clutch is good?

Glad she made it an thank the Lord you were there to help her!

Something similar happened at the TSSAA wrestling tournament a few years back, this kid saved his life thank goodness... all I had to do was call the ambulance but I will never forget the adrenaline rush

All-state wrestler saves man’s life with CPR in restroom of state tournament

I assume so. What are odds the original and the new fail in the same fashion?

I think this kind of thing is what makes music more enjoyable for me these days. It’s the little things. Several months back December 1963 came on... I’d heard the song a hundred times, but had never listened to it ....and it dawned on me what the song was actually about

More than likely, if it is a relatively new car, the compressor clutch assembly is controlled by high and low pressure switches and compressor oil level, through a fuse. If it senses an overcharge or undercharge of refrigerant, or a low oil level in the compressor, the clutch won't engage. Also, the fuse could be bad.
