Virginia shipyard worker fired for refusing to remove ‘Trump 2020’ hat: report

Dave Sunderland said he'd worn similar hats for years without problems

A Virginia man lost his job with a leading national naval manufacturer after refusing to take off his “Trump 2020” hat at a safety meeting prior to a shift, according to local reports.

Dave Sunderland spent about eight years working at Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, which is the only manufacturer of U.S. Navy aircraft carriers and one of just two firms that produce nuclear-powered submarines.

Despite company policies prohibiting campaigning and political clothing, Sunderland told the Daily Press newspaper in Virginia that he’d worn Trump hats over the past few years without incident and had seen others wearing clothing with Democratic and progressive slogans.

A 60-year-old retired schoolteacher showed up to Kenosha's Civic Center Park on Thursday to serve as a one woman cheering squad for Joe Biden as he arrived in town - two days after President Trump's visit drew hundreds of supporters and protesters to the same downtown park.

'Maybe I'm in the wrong spot, I don't know,' Michelle Stauder told DailyMail.com just before a few Biden supporters walked over to join her. 'I hope to get it started.'

She waved a Biden-Harris sign and sported a red, white and blue cowboy hat, blue hair, flags and Joe buttons she crafted for the occasion, saying: 'I made my signs and buttons, I'm really excited.'

Biden's welcoming committee was noticeably smaller than the hundreds of supporters and protesters that Trump drew when he visited the violence-ravaged town on Tuesday.

Hunter Biden’s deals ‘served’ China and Chinese military, new film claims

Hunter Biden’s business dealings in China served the “strategic interests” of the country’s communist government and military — and may have imperiled American national security, claims a new documentary exclusively previewed by The Post.

“Riding the Dragon: The Bidens’ Chinese Secrets” highlights several deals that Hunter Biden was involved in as a board member of the Beijing-based BHR Partners investment firm.

The film also alleges that Hunter was only able to get meetings with Chinese officials — and secure $1 billion in funding — “because of who his father was: vice president of the United States” and then-President Barack Obama’s “point person on US policy towards China.”

After getting snubbed from moderating the upcoming presidential debates, the folks over at CNN are now whining publicly that Chris Wallace of Fox News got a chance to moderate over them.

Speaking on CNN’s “Newsroom” on Thursday, host Brianna Keillar could not seem to fathom how Chris Wallace would get an opportunity to moderate while working for a network that pushes “propaganda.”

“The presidential debates are set and Fox News’ Chris Wallace will monitor the first between President Trump and Joe Biden,” said Keillar, as reported by Newsbusters. “The debate commission giving the September 29th face-off to Fox despite propaganda, dishonesty, and the fact that some Fox hosts advise President Trump.”

Keillar then invited on CNN senior reporter Oliver Darcy and asked if perhaps the presence of Chris Wallace, who she admitted is a fair journalist, will somehow legitimize Fox News.

“On one hand, you have a lot of Fox News hosts who have been accused of pushing false information, which is dangerous during this pandemic. Then on the other hand, you have Chris Wallace, who has certainly challenged the president on a number of issues,” she said. “I know those are interviews that I have appreciated as he has done them. What do you make of this selection?”

“You have to keep in mind that the network he works for has pushed propaganda, has pushed disinformation, has trafficked in lies,” he continued. “Their star hosts have made discrediting other news organizations and journalists a core tenet of their programs. You have hosts on the network who are literally advising the president.”
