Never heard it until today, but Tom Seaver originally signed with the Braves and had his contract voided when it was determined that he waited too long to sign because he pitched in an exhibition game for USC and unknown to the Braves had started his freshman year of college. Braves got fined and were barred from signing him for 3 years.
