Apparently I need to tell you this since you have a bad memory. The him I'm referring to is Clay Travis.

Cassius Clay is controversial. But I like Henry Clay.

My first exposure to CT was when he co hosted a local sports radio program. I didn't like his style then. He is, as you describe, of the shock jock mold. And since I don't like people trying to manipulate me through fear or anger, I didn't like his style.
His assessments of Dooley, and Butch were spot on. He nailed the reality of our program back then. And, many UT fans despised hearing him articulate those truths.

I think he is using the same technique now. Facts are accurate...I mean he is simply posting data aggregated from other sources...but the delivery is in your face. Whether he is riling up rednecks, or not, I can't say. Most of the folks riled up with him now tend to be the left leaning/ronabros. I doubt those folks self identify as rednecks.

I've actually credited him multiple times in this discussion by saying he's figured out a business model that benefits him in that all he has to do is get his redneck followers riled up about something and they'll retweet his stuff like it's no tomorrow. The one's I'm questioning the intelligence of are his followers who view him as a legit news source.

I just fail to see how someone reading data straight from a website is "riling up" anyone. If he was making up the data or lying about the data you'd have a point.

FTR: Clay Travis has been reporting the same numbers and data that I've been following and interpreting since the spring. I've actually communicated with him a couple of times, providing links/resources. You don't have to be an epidemiologist to read and understand most of this stuff.

Clay just has a platform with the means to distribute the info. And it's mostly great info, and it's helpful for a lot of people to understand where we really are and the senseless damage that we've done with our approach. As pointed out in the football practice thread, I'm just a shallow-minded pediatrician who only knows how to check knee reflexes, so nobody is going to listen to me.

328+ million people in this country..........and this is the scary rona......and what percentage have been exposed (6 million) and directly died from it (182,000)........

I'd say that it has been rather well dealt with when you have perspective.......and.....if the rona is that bad and scary and deadly, it would only back up the fact that overall, it has gone pretty well.......and, look at tyhe majority of those deaths......2 places, NY and NJ.......
