No doubt Cyberpunk 2077 is going to be great when it's released, and I was one that was fearful that it wouldn't be because so much is riding on it for CDPR, but it looks amazing. IDK when we're going to get another TES. Zenimax has been milking ESO and god-knows-how-many-skyrim-releases for a while as a substitute but that can't last forever. They've always been slow with TES games though. I'm just hoping I'm still alive when that one comes out.

I’m just sitting here waiting on CDPR to finish the Witcher 4 🤷‍♂️ But I’m not gonna act like I won’t pay attention to Cyberpunk 2077. Everything I’ve seen is face melting

Odyssey feels like they were trying to move in a direction that had more RPG elements which is good but it needed more to tie you to the main story which tbh, I felt completely detached from. I like the mechanics of Odyssey better but there's an overwhelming number of tiny grind quests and very few quests where you feel like you did anything that mattered. I finished the main questline without really understanding what it was all about beyond running around occasionally killing cultists. IDK the main quest just felt lacking. Ubisoft wayyy overcharges for AC titles when they're new so Valhalla is one that I'll probably wait and see on. I love the places AC has the ability to travel to and seeing ancient Greece as it would've looked then was amazing. I also loved that actual history was used or referenced in a lot quests as well as with historical figures you get to meet and that more than anything kept me playing it despite the storyline being a bit weak.

I think it's going to be interesting to see where Valhalla wants to go because if they keep heading in the direction they appear to be going I think they will eventually get to a deeper story but they're kind of feeling their way there right now.

Missed the beginning of the report. I think the “head case” tag on him hasn’t been true for a few seasons. He’s always had command issues that get him into trouble every now and again but most of his problems have been health related.

They did ok with ESO but it's the least MMO-like MMO ever. The quests are great for an MMO but not up to snuff for a legit TES game. I honestly don't know why 76 didn't follow the ESO model more closely - ESO was a disaster at release but recovered and became a decent game. I've been tempted to try 76 but every time I think about it I'm reminded that they've done nothing quest wise and are micro-transactiony while charging more for their verison of a sub than ESO which is a superior game.

What worries me about TES is that Skyrim releases now have online crap in them at the launch screen. They worked hard to cram some of it into a game that never had it. It's minimal but if you buy a new copy (or if your old copy is on Steam) it's there at the launch screen and even includes bs that prevents achievements if you're running mods (of course there's a mod for that but I found that to be just insulting to a playerbase and game that has thrived because of modding). That said, I think players would absolutely riot if the next TES has too much online MMO, Subscription or multiplayer hoodoo in it. If what's in Skyrim now is all they then that's annoying but fine. If it's more than that though it's going to be a mess. I think Bethesda knows that though. At least, I hope they do. As for Starfield, I haven't really decided yet but more than likely I will. Bethesda and CDPR are my weakness despite Bethesda not always getting things right.

BTW, I just started Prey (it's an Arkane/Bethesda release) and it's pretty darn good. Really underrated title that you can pick up cheap during various sales. I've only played a few hours but so far it's been far better than I expected and it's entirely singleplayer without anything forced into it.

No one is getting through our line this year.

And while we're talking games. Two games I picked up during the Summer Sales that were outstanding: Plague Tale and the Metro series. A Plague Tale is very different but great if you like stealth and story based games (grab it on sale and just enjoy it - they managed to take an escort quest and make it amazing but it's a shorter game that you're not going to really replay). The Metro series is also great and goes on sale a lot. I liked the first two games better than the third one but they are all good.
