The Atlanta Braves - Hello darkness my old friend

This might come as a gigantic surprise to you guys but it’s entirely possible NOBODY WANTS OUR PITCHING PROSPECTS because we’ve done an absolutely immaculate job of lighting their value on fire

We missed the window on them.

After 2018 Wright, Touki, Allard, Bryse and Gohara all had value and we held on and not it’s basically hope we can fix them which probably won’t happen. Huge blow for the franchise.

Also doesn’t let AA off the hook for not flipping them when they had value but 🤷🏻‍♂️
Can’t flip everyone but as GA said, they weren’t all gonna be in the rotation

I still think trading Syndergaard away in Toronto has AA hesitant to make a deal because he doesn't want to do it again.

I’m not letting him off the hook for jack. He’s on the other end of the shotgun double barrels. The asset/value mismanagement has been criminal. Didn’t cash in, didn’t develop, actively had a hand in helping to deteriorate. Couldn’t evaluate his own guys, etc etc etc

It’s been abysmal. I’m also not letting MLB off the hook because COPPY should still be here and wouldn’t be tammy too timid to make a deal

Should have specified. Wasn’t saying you in particular were letting him off the hook. Generalized statement

The guy who wheeled and dealed in TB and wheels and deals in LA? He’s good at his job. He didn’t emasculate AA

I was talking about the cautious approach. Freidman is awesome but he isn’t a big mover in terms of trades. Before Betts he got heat for not making a big trade.

This is where it’s nice to have a Ted Turner who says “go get me Fred McGriff dammit!” or “have whatever you want to sign Maddux”...Liberty Media and McGuirk will never do that and so you get guys like Kevin Gausman and Mark Melancon and one year prove it deals.

I understand AA has to deal with the international signing restrictions so I understand the reluctance not to sell the farm but at some point you have to go for it.

It super frustrating watching this team waste prime Freddie years. Honest question hes made his money, with twins on the way does he consider retirement when his contract ends?

No. He will be 32 at the end of his contract and he loves the game. He’s got plenty of baseball in front of him.
