Jim Chaney Press Conference (8/27)

I think JG is a lot like Jonathan Crompton. His main issue is not the result: not leading his receivers. It is the thing that causes this result: being late getting the ball out. He waits a fraction too long and by that time the receiver has run past his arm on deep balls or is exiting the open window on short passes. Everyone wonders why he plays better off the bench. It's because he's angry, his inhibitions go down and he lets the ball loose on-time. I still hope things can click for JG in his second season in Jim Chaney's offense.

Remember Crompton in '08 vs Wyoming; remember him in '09 vs UGA through the end on his TN career. JG from his throwing motion to his running ability to the space between his ears reminds me very much of Jonathan Crompton. And I hope JG's career can end on a high note.

JG will have had two years in a Cheney offense, if he doesn't improve by game 3 or 4, I feel that they need to make a change. I have faith that Cheney can help improve JG now that he has had some consistency with his OC and offense.

His inept play the last three years Rip Van Winkle.
Lol, you've got no clue what inept QB play looks like then as every knowledgeable fan out there predicted JG would pretty much be our starting QB going forward after last season's Ky and Mizz games. Must be nice though to be one of those select few that predicted the opposite, you guys should get together and start giving couch coaching clinics all across the country.

Wonder why mini BM hasn't responded to this yet, he claims that Chaney doesn't want JG at QB and that he doesn't like HB and that he really wants to play BM. Ol Coach Chaney must be really good at coach speak. Lol, I've not seen a single neverJGer on here arguing their disgust over this interview. Speak up boys, tell us again how our coaches are making the wrong decisions! The neverJG crowd was never right.

We will see a totally different qb in JG this year in my opinion
Yeah he has gained about 20lbs since last year. He was no burner to begin with. But hey I hope he shocks every Vol nation fan with a 180 turn around year. We can dream can't we ?
Sidenote....PulaskiVol must be the biggest JG fan in the free world !

I very sincerely hope you are right because they one we have seen the previous 3 years simply isn't good enough.

@PulaskiVolFan Why did you "like" this considering how reactive you are to honest criticisms of JG?

Lol, you think your criticisms of JG are honest, what a joke. You've said he's reached his ceiling, can't improve and have hinted at him being dumb by continuing to say he can't process data fast enough. Chaney was honest, said he makes some incredible throws, said he was inconsistent and said he has seen improvement and will likely see more improvement. His honest take is the exact opposite of yours and the 4 other neverJG guys on here.

Why would a RS Senior need 3-4 games to show improvement?

So Burrow didn't show improvement his rs SR year?

What about Crompton?

Pretty normal occurrence

We've already been over the nonexistent JG-Burrow comparison.

My question, was why would he need 3-4 games to show improvemen? He's a RS senior who finished 2019 on a relatively dismal performance against a mediocre B1G team; I'd say the bar is pretty low for "improvement" over 2019.

Definitely shouldn't require 180-240 minutes worth of game time to see improvement or not.

When you are right about even one thing let me know.

Wrong on every qb. Wrong on Covid. What else can you flub? Lmao
The interesting thing... is that I've been right on both.

For me to be "wrong" on any QB you would have to be honest about what I've said... and you have never been that.

The current IFR for Covid has dropped below 1%. The average is now well under 1% including the spike experienced early due to the lack of medical knowledge. I told you that the IFR wasn't 5% or whatever they were saying WEEKS ago. I told you there were going to be a LOT more actual infections than the "confirmed cases" reported back then. That's now accepted as fact. I told you the shutdowns weren't necessary. That's now pretty well understood.... though not often admitted by the media that promoted it. NYC is conclusive proof that not only did the lockdowns not work... they likely made it worse.

Even with the incredible OVERCOUNTING of Covid deaths... it is starting to look very much like a "flu like" impact or maybe even less. Currently, there are about 5 million "confirmed" cases and roughly 35% of those are asymptomatic. Most of the rest have symptoms ranging from a mild cold to severe flu. Let's say that one person with symptoms did not get a diagnosis for every person who had symptoms and tested positive... that gives you around 7 million people with the equivalent of allergies, a cold, or the flu. We have around 50 million people with the flu every year... and there is no such thing as asymptomatic flu.

The virus is real. The perceived severity is a media narrative.
.

So what specifically do you think I was wrong about concerning Covid?

JG isn’t great but he was a lot better than Shrout or Maurer. If he’s still struggling early on I would just go straight to Bailey. Nothing to lose in a year like this anyway.
