I actually agree with snit on this. I understand the intent of the rule but you either can block the plate or you can’t. Without the option of running him over, there’s nothing Dansby can do here. The throw took him up the line but he knew exactly what he was doing. If catchers get the protection of not being trucked, then he’s gotta be to his right a full step.
