Going to probably sting a little here. But if he really wanted to make a difference he should have taken no salary this year. Taking no salary does not affect him one bit financially. A 15% reduction for him is an absolute joke...it doesn’t move the needle for him nor for the university. This is a PR play at best and I am not thrilled.

I agree with this a little. Back in 2009, the bosses of the company I worked for took no pay. No one asked them to do that, but it kept a lot of folks employed. According to the earlier post, the department cut budgets by 20%, and he leads with the fact that he took a 15% cut. So glad Phil is leading the department, but that doesn’t resonate with me as a fan and would definitely give me pause as an employee. On the other hand, if the department had 20% to cut, and it didn’t impact employees or the essential tools they need to get the job done and take care of the student athletes, then that’s a good cut.

Because whether the 15% comes off his base pay ($45,000) or full remuneration ($150,000), for someone that has made many millions over his life neither of those dollar amounts would produce a noticeable impact on his economic situation.

The move is, as I said, purely cosmetic, not doing too much to help the athletics department during what is going to be a very tough year fiscally.

I’m not upset about the cut, but it’s also not the kind of thing to be proud about either.
The basking in pride angle is projection from the bitchers. Whenever Atlanta lands maybe he’ll be sober enough to expand on exactly how empty is Fulmer’s effort.

Y’all all over here worried about Fulmer and I’m over here wondering who will be the 2nd string QB since JG is on a short leash.....
$100 says we see all the QB’s this fall. When was the last time we went an entire season without a backup needing to play meaningful minutes? And since our starter isn’t very good, and is on a short leash, I’d be surprised if we didn’t see Maurer, Shrout and Bailey early and often this fall.

Ohio State and Michigan playing a home and home would bring huge interest and tv ratings.
oooopppps--you may be on to something--would definitely be better watching them a second time, rather than say a first time Minnesota/ Northwestern game. Can see it now--Mr. TV due to risk factors of playing in a Covid-19 pandemic and the better level of games you will be getting, we want 150% of contract !. :)

Cumberland County had 29 new cases today, 15 old case recoveries, so net increase of 14 active cases. Your transmission rate as of today stands at 1.15. It's not the highest in the state. That would be Overton, a.k.a. Covid County, TN, which is whichever county has the highest transmission rate.

Kingsport went green today, Sullivan County.

The overall positivity rate today was 7.24% which is really good to be that low. Today the number of active cases in the state fell to the lowest level since July 25th but we've been trapped in a range for the last almost 4 weeks. I've been expecting the total number of active cases to consistently drop for some time now. It hasn't happened yet. We'll see what happens in the next few days.

Wish we just stuck with one backup because they are just that good
