To each his own. WRT Colt rifles, it's your money; buy what you trust with your life. I'll be the first to say that if you want a good fighting rifle, that Colt trigger has to go right out of the gate. I went with the Geissele SSA and e-SSA, and I'm happy. I changed the stocks, grips, added optics, slings, and lights and Raptor ambi CH's on my two "fighting rifles". That's just me. I tried to not put anything on my rifles that will get hung up when I'm trying to deploy it in a hurry, and I tried to not put anything on them that I would not need in a vulgar gunfight. I went with Colt initially (2009) because at the time it was the industry standard, a safe buy, and I wanted a heavy barrel. Also, a number of my friends / co-workers went to Colt Armorer's School while they were in the military / LE, and so I have pool of talent if I need something fixed. To a man, they all swear by the 6721 (for accuracy), 6920 (all around), and 6933/6943 (LE and CQB) models. There are other guns they like a lot, some more then Colt depending on the application, but for the money and general reliability...Colt.

'course, the baddest, fastest, coolest, most accurate AR in the world ain't worth squat if the nut on the trigger isn't tight, right? So I try to make sure I practice enough to stay close to the magic 1.5 seconds on the OODA Loop, and make those first 2 rounds count, both with my rifles and my handguns. It's a perishable and...for me...challenging skill. Some days I might impress you, and some days you might spit beer on yourself. Yesterday, and a couple of weeks ago, I was okay. Back in June you would have sworn it was my first time swinging a rifle under pressure. It took me 9 rounds from the "go" to drop 3 steel targets...at 25 yards. My "friend" running the clock asked me if I wanted to buy a shotgun.

I would let my lgs consign my Defender tomorrow if it weren't for my better half wanting to keep it as it's our only Colt. I have unleashed more curses than I can count trying to keep the barrel link in alignment while that plate on the back of the guide rod is under pressure. I have never had as much problem reassembling any 1911-based pistol as that thing.

Following a similar thought, I am very tempted to sell my Glock 42 while demand is high but I have several hundred rounds of .380 ball and a nice variety of defensive ammo as well. My lgs will accept consignment of 'packages' that include preowned ammo, extra mags, and accessories, particularly nowadays. Just not sure I want to give up a decent pistol that I have a ready supply of ammo for, even though I never really use it. When my grandad passed, there was an old, cheap .25 auto mixed in with the part of his collection that I was gifted. I never saw him use it. Probably sat in a drawer for decades. I feel like the G42 could suffer the same fate only I doubt the polymer will keep up as well as the old metal frame stuff.

I'd keep it, for now. A .380 beats nothing, and while there are many who "poo-poo" the .380 round, it's unlikely that any of them would volunteer to get shot by it just to prove what a lame round it is.

Ok, here goes.

Trading the Legion P226 in .357 for a Ruger PC Carbine (plus me getting $$$)

Selling the Glock 45 ( I have the 19x anyway)

Buying a Legion P226 w/ the Romeo sight (in 9mm which is what I should have gotten in the first place).

There were two things on my want list that I started getting panicky about in light of events and the election, an AK and an M1A. I was set on an Arsenal AK but availability of new became an issue and prices of used skyrocketed, so I turned to PSA and reasoned that I could get the MOEkov and the AKV for about what I was going to pay for one Arsenal AK. Still looking for an M1A Scout. I think/hope that a 1911 is not going to end up on anyone's ban list and I can put that one off until next year.

I believe the California ruling just put a huge hitch in the gun grab Getty Up. We shall see.

Fun fact: The M1A has been available in California all along. Even with all their bs political crap, folks still had access to one of the best .308 battlerifles around. Silly Californians.

I just remembered that I'm in the queue for a CMP 1911. My RNG number was sent March of last year. I knew I would forget, and I did. I'm not even sure the FFL I put down is still in business. But it doesn't matter because they're still 2k orders away from my number.
