My high school got beat by Plano in their only visit to the state championship game in 1965. Never was a horn fan. They're the school whose ish don't stink.

Wow. I was born there, and it was a farm town. But that was 1980. My parents grew up in Dallas and were Cowboys fans and did root for Texas. But we moved to TN when I was 4. Parents became UT fans once both sons attended.

There's no reason that college football players can't be safer from Covid than anyone in the country. It's not hard to assure that they are in total isolation from society in general. The big concern is that the athletes are also going to be isolated from much that makes life worth living.

The only thing I know about Maryville football is one of the best teams in my high school's history had to play them in the state semi finals and got smoked

Sometimes it's a sacrifice we make today for the better future we may have tomorrow. Sometimes the sacrifice we make isn't just in our own self interest. I was a submariner in the Navy and while I was on a Fast Attack I had buddies serving on "boomers", ballistic missile subs. Those guys would be out to sea under water, hiding really, for 3 months at a time, uninterrupted. Talk about being isolated.
