2020 Presidential Race

Either that or they got used to putting bandaid on every bruise, or headache they got.

Reality has little to do with perception. No one understands and takes advantage of that fact more that Trump. He has spent his entire presidency intentionally blurring the lines between fact and fiction.
I think you meant that perception is on a reality continuum.

That rub some dirt on it .. man if I had a dollar every time I was told that . Lol . Also ( anecdotal) but if you didn’t have a bone sticking out somewhere , the chances of you seeing a Dr. was slim to none , and my mom was a nurse . Lol

Look at the state of the Republican Party and the Conservative movement right now. I want someone to right the ship and Trump Pence can’t do that. Their supporters wanted to burn the system to the ground. Well they have and it have and look where we are now. Republicans and conservatives have moved away from Goldwater, Reagan, and H.W Bush and embraced Trumpism with a mix of Le Pen nationalism. The country is changing and the GOP and conservatives failed to change with it. The change to have done that was in 2016. Just look at who the Republicans elected in Georgia’ 14th District. A woman who has a history of making racist, anti-Semitic and Islamophobic comments & posting about Q and the QAnon conspiracy movement. If that the way the party is moving I’m not going to be apart of it.
Well the Dems are moving towards AOC and Omar so I sure as sh*t wouldn’t want to be a part of that. The time for more options is now.

Biden Picks Sen. Kamala Harris As Running Mate

Presumptive Democratic hopeful Joe Biden has chosen Senator Kamala Harris, D-CA, as his running mate, his campaign announced on Tuesday amid a flurry of speculation that would either be her or former Obama national security advisor Susan Rice.
Harris: 'I believe' Biden accusers
Harris, 55, who was also a 2020 Democratic candidate, would be the nation’s first female, first Black, Asian vice president if elected.

Many prominent African-American lawmakers and community leaders have criticized her extensive prosecutions in the black community, failure to advocate against social injustice and long lengthy prison sentences for minor crimes, like truancy.
Here’s just one of many opinion editorial here from USA Today
“To the chagrin of her supporters, close examinations of the woman who took pride in the title of California’s “top cop” by writers like Lara Bazelon, C.J. Ciaramella, Sarah Lustbader, Vaidya Gullapalli, Joe Garafoli and others revealed that Harris had been nothing close to the civil rights warrior she claimed to be. In actuality, she had spent much of her professional life prosecuting and persecuting poor people and minorities.
Bazelon wrote that Harris “opposed or stayed silent” on multiple aspects of criminal justice reform. She “laughed” when a reporter asked her about decriminalizing marijuana before reversing course years later as public opinion changed. She opposed a bill requiring her office to investigate police shootings. She also opposed statewide police officer body-camera regulations.”

Kamala Harris couldn't secure black support in race for president

Help me understand how Trump supporters throw shade at Harris for having an affair? If Trump was squeaky clean and could claim the moral high ground, I might understand it better, but this certainly isn't the case.

The only real difference is that I doubt anyone gave Trump a job or promotion hoping to bang him.

Ha, good point.
If these are the best talking points Republicans can find to attack her with, I would say it's encouraging to the Dems. When is this country going to get around talking about substantive issues and how each candidate stands on them, rather than mud-slinging??

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) brought her presidential campaign to a Vietnamese restaurant in Sin City’s growing Chinatown, touting her candidacy as a chance to elect the first Asian-American U.S. president.

Harris’s mother is Indian; her father is Jamaican. She was born in Oakland and raised in Canada before returning to the U.S. to attend Howard University.

Harris began her remarks by noting the importance of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, and reminded the audience that she was also the first South Asian U.S. Senator.

“I intend to be very active, and very vocal, in fighting for every vote, in particular the Asian vote,” she declared, saying she wanted to be a role model for Asian immigrants in encouraging more of them to run for public office.

One woman asked Harris if she would commit to wearing traditional Indian garb at her inauguration, were she to become president. Harris politely demurred, saying she had to win first.

Last year, CNN host Don Lemon landed in hot water after attempting to argue that while Harris was black, she was not African American because of her father’s Jamaican roots.

I averaged one trip to the ER a year growing up. Mostly around christmas. Cracked skull was the worst one. Lots of blood from a head wound, freaked my parents out.

My favorite is when my sister "accidentally" cut me with a knife and my moms first question was "dis you get any blood on the carpet". No mom, I'm fine by the way.

I agree it's a weak point of attack, her record and on record comments provide enough ammunition.

It was not an affair. He had been separated from his wife since 1981 and they dated openly attending public functions together.

Trump supporters can't whine about nepotism or cronyism.

Great points. If all of that is true, then no way will anyone ever vote for the Biden/Harris ticket!

Did Trump sleep his way to the top?

Or you’re just cool with Harris having done that?

So I would ask what parts of her record and on-record comments should keep an independent from voting for Biden/Harris vs. Trump/Pence?

'Kamala the Kop' says she's cool with weed, but helped imprison more than 1,500 people on pot charges

Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., wants voters to think she’s down with the reefer madness.

But don’t be fooled. The likelihood that this is a genuine ideological evolution on her part is extremely low. Harris' supposed pro-weed pivot is almost certainly a political calculation, especially in light of what we know about her past as a ruthless, anti-pot crusader, including the many hundreds of people who were sent to prison for marijuana-related offenses during her tenure as California's attorney general.
When Harris served as the Golden State's AG “at least 1,560 people were sent to state prisons for marijuana-related offenses between 2011 and 2016,” the Washington Free Beacon reported, citing data provided by OpenJustice and the California Department of Corrections.
That’s an estimated 1,560 people in the span of just five years. That’s an average rate of 312 people imprisoned for pot-related offenses per year. Those are figures that would make even former Attorney General Jeff Sessions, a noted anti-marijuana crusader, beam with pride.
Additionally, the figure quoted by the Free Beacon “is necessarily an undercount of the total number of people actually prosecuted for marijuana offenses during Harris's term as Attorney General. The sharp decline between 2011 and 2012 is not a reflection of leniency on Harris's part, but because of something called Public Safety Realignment.”
The report explains:
A federal court found in 2011 that California's state-level prisons were dangerously overcrowded, ordering it to reduce populations to more manageable levels. To do so, the state began filtering many lower-level offenders—including drug offenders—into county jails, meaning that they dropped out of state-level totals but were still incarcerated.

Under realignment, "most lower-level offenders with no record of sexual, violent, or serious crimes now serve sentences in county jail or under county probation supervision," the Public Policy Institute of California noted in 2015.

County-level populations ticked up following realignment, but no data source breaks those figures down by offense. As such it is not clear how many additional marijuana offenders were prosecuted under Harris and then diverted to county jails. As a result, 1,560 is the lower bound of individuals sent to prison by Harris for marijuana from 2011 to 2016.

Translation: The number of people imprisoned under Harris’ watch for committing pot-related offenses may actually be far greater than 1,560, which is just another reminder that when it comes to Harris, there's no good cop/bad cop. It's all bad cop/bad cop. Now, fast-forward just a couple of years, and the senator is regaling listeners Monday with tales of her past experimentation with pot.
