Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

I have noticed that Trump is oddly silent about the Russian vaccine. My own theory is that he'd love to be out there finding a way to take credit for it or congratulating them, but has been told by his team not to because they worry it looks like he's too close to Putin. (Like that ship hasn't already sailed).

Stay tuned to see who gets fired over at DNI.

Who's lining up to get first crack at that Russian vaccine?!?

Passed Phase 1 of clinical trials, so it definitely, positively will work and is super safe.

The Red October Surprise Vaccine.

The name and potential side effects have me a litle concerned, but losing the ability to have rational thought, isn't something most of the Red Hat types will miss anyway.

Given what we know about inactivated virus vaccines (like the flu shot), it is quite possible that COVID immunization might require 2+ doses/year. Immunity from the flu shot wanes after 4-6 months, and CV19 transmission is obviously not limited to the winter season (although, I do suspect that it will spread more readily then).

Side note: we had a staff meeting over lunch today to discuss return-to-school protocols, handling nurse calls, scheduling CV-possible patients, etc. At the end of the meeting, I asked the staff which of them would take a CV vaccine if available before the end of the year, and which of them would administer it to their own children. Results: 2 would take the vaccine (both >60 y/o), 11 would not, and none would give it to their own kids. I guess it's herd immunity or bust, here.

Despite objections from an Alexandria prosecutor and Virginia law that states those charged with certain violent crimes like rape are presumed to be a danger and not eligible for bond, Bouaichi’s lawyers successfully argued that he be released on a $25,000 bond.

You can thank recently retired judge Nolan Dawkins, who's friends want to name a street after him, for releasing him on bond in spite of Virginia law.

Judges, Governors, whomever releasing these known dangerous felons is unconscionable.
