Went back and reread the original post. I assumed he had complications before and would be able to resume playing eventually. Missed the permanent damage piece. Hopefully they honor his scholarship and let him finish school, or even better, he's able to defy odds and get back on the field.

I’m out on this and I’ll let you argue amongst yourselves.

There is no perfect answer and to act like there is would be disingenuous. But, other countries have given us the blueprint for what works and what doesn’t.

Social distancing, allow no crowds of 10 or more, wear your mask when you have to go out, and wash your hands.

Following these things is hard work and hurts our businesses. It’s absolutely no fun to sit in your house without being able to watch sports.

But we should have taken it seriously in March and we didn’t. We should have taken it seriously in June but we didn’t. We should take it seriously now so we can have spring football, but we won’t.

Other countries have been playing sports so they have laid out the blue print that it can be done.

Also don't believe everyone in other countries are all on the same page. There has been massive anti mask protest in other countries also.

I have no idea. I'm sure the SEC takes them in on their side and I'm sure the other conferences will have to take their flagship programs back. If they don't the SEC truely becomes a super confrence

Tell that to the thousands of students who will lose their scholarships, the universities that will never recover, the local businesses that will go out of business, all because we want to eliminate risk from those who are not at risk. Makes sense.

The thing is, the current plan isn’t what baseball is doing. Colleges aren’t testing all players twice or three times a week whether they show symptoms or not. And these players cannot be effectively quarantined when you’re expecting them to go to school and live in dorms. It won’t happen.

Actually, the protocols REQUIRE them to test 3 times per week. That is absolutely what will be happening. Football is far more risky to these players than this virus is. They sign up to play every year. No one is making them do it.

I wonder what what is your true motivation of wanting the football season to be cancelled?

I would be ok with 3/4 of these liberal teaching professors and administrators losing their jobs. If the product they are putting out is what we have been seeing on tv the last 3 months.

Absolutely. The "cure" for the corona virus is to put the "other" side in office and I'd bet that the virus would just miraculously go away. Let me rephrase that. It wouldn't go away but it'd be resolved. It's very obvious who's pushing the virus.
