I don't mind, either. I don't look at it as piling on. I realize that I am a minority on this board being a Eucharistic Protestant with often time polar opposite interpretations of the Bible. Being formally educated in the Bible, Christianity, theology and the history of the church makes me look at things more contextually than most Christians. The shrill and ignorant shrieking of the word heresy or heretic makes me want to puke, though.

I know of no Christian church would agree your first statement. Not sure if I understand the second statement as I don't know how one can "limit" what Christ did.

I am certainly going to read up on Hort and Wescott. The COE was quite "mystical" during that age. so much so that scholars like those two were also exploring the Gnostic interpretation of Christianity a la the Orthodox Church. And, as I said earlier, most Anglican, Episcopalian, Methodist and Presbyterian ministers were Masons at that time.

WW2 receiver with a post war barrel is ok. I would like to believe it had the possibility of having killed Nazis. I’m going to shoot the hell out of it so I’m not looking for great condition. Patina in my mind is a plus. I passed on one the other day that was a couple years too new. It was 700$. I’d like to stay in that range if possible.

Not sure how much I'll discuss, because of several reasons, but I thought you'd be interested to know. Because of the way I feel about it, I wanted as few eyes to see it as possible.

Several months ago you asked me if I wanted know why you thought the Apocalypse of Peter should be included in the Bible. Since then I've done some major (for me) research just trying to figure the differences in Apocrypha, Pseudepigrapha, Deuterocanonical, Vulgate, Septuagint, Cipher etc. When I started I knew nothing, still don't know much, but I found out what I'd be interested in and what I wouldn't.

I prayed on this genuinely and hard and here is my opinion and thoughts on just 2, the apocalypse of Paul which I read first thinking that's the one you said, then the apocalypse of Peter after I searched this thread an saw that's the one you brought up.

It may seem silly to you but I'm gonna start another post, if your interested. I appreciate it if you don't quote it because I'm gonna delete it after you read it.

I have so much respect for you right now. To take the time to study outside the norm to draw your own conclusions is next level ****. One might call it holy ****. Regardless of what you decide, the Bereans would say “you do well”

I have only read the 2, so far. After many days and emails reaching out, I found two different books that had what I was looking for. There's several more I want to read I'll tell you about if you want.

The apocalypse of Paul was the one I read first. It had a profound effect on me. I cried and was more scared than I've ever been. It has changed me in some ways.

I don't think it should be included in the Bible and I'm glad it's not. Not because of the reasons you probably think.

I've struggled here for 10 minutes trying to figure out how to say it and can't. I think everyone should read the Bible as soon as they're old enough to read it. I think if you don't have a basic understanding of the Bible, you have no business reading this.

That’s the main argument for exclusion of both AO Peter and Enoch.

I would enjoy hearing what you have to say and would gladly do so without a return commentary. Hearing other’s thoughts is a wonderful way to provoke my own study process

I only have the New Testament "books" now, the Old Testament book should be here Wednesday. It includes a few NT ones that my other one doesn't.

I won't read it all. There are a few Im interested in, but Enoch I want to read and The letters of Pilate. Can you imagine the possibility of the contents?

This is something that has pushed me in my Bible further. After I finished Paul, I spent several hours in my KJV. It was amazing.

I didnt want this to replace or take anything away from my Bible and I was careful about going forward with it.

I could see this going very wrong if not careful. Its my opinion if the rest, or others are anything close to the 2 I've read, I believe the Bible I'd perfect the way it is. That is my firm opinion.
