2020 Presidential Race

I suppose some, with notable exceptions, might think losing Trump is a loss worth taking.

Some might, some might not. But it’s really not relevant to the point I was making.

Joe Biden has a consistent pattern of making bigoted comments. It’s plain to see...yet many of his supporters have rationalized them away - even many of those who see racism everywhere else.

K Harris even believes he's a racist

Because it is ok when it is their guy.

So, they should pay attention to Biden comments that some might construe as racist, but not those of Trump?

I'm kinda getting the feeling your argument is weak.

Trump is the exceptional case where you actually do want to toss the baby out with the bathwater.

I don't know how many times he has to say all black people are the same before people actually believe that he means it.

We live in a Topsy turvey world where saying black people have personal agency and can take responsibility to fix their own lives on an individual level is racist, and saying that all black people are dumb, poor, exactly the same, and need white people to coddle them in every facet of society is not only not racist, but virtuous. Craziness.

And then you have to throw in the Trumper's favorite refrain: "I care about what he does, not what he says".
If they lose that claim, their whole foundation crumbles.

What exactly am I arguing? I’m asserting that a lot of people who are voting for Biden look past his troubling history of racially insensitive comments. Would you agree or disagree?

So, "bigoted" becomes "insensitive".. Ok, i'll go along with that

Answer the question. Insensitive or bigoted?

You posed a question assuming that Biden's statement implied it was unusual. He's also intelligent, but if the descriptor "black" makes you think it's exclusive, maybe you are "insensitive".

Sounds to me like he's saying not only is it unusual, but it's storybook unusual.

Biden is taking some heat for comments he made to the New York Observer, in which he said of Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., a rival for the nomination: "I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that's a storybook, man."
