2020 Presidential Race

Do yourself a favor and read George Washington's Farewell Address to the Nation. Read how he predicted the two party system would split this country apart. All this BS you and luther spout about "normalizing Trump", Trump is not as much an anomaly as you guys claim. You choose to be blind. Donald Trump is a liar. He is egotistical, he's self-serving, he's immoral, he's a horrible person. But he's far from the first President to be that way. That idea is a fantasy that ignores the shortcomings of a lot of other Presidents. But none of that compares to the damage that has been done to this country by the two parties fighting tooth and nail for power. If you are unable to see how they have split the citizenry, how their actions are meant to divide, you are ignorant. And I think you choose to be that way. It's easier to ignore the hard truths than it is to face them and acknowledge them.
It is not the system itself which divides... it is the elected officials within those two parties. I believe in term limits for Congress. Six terms in the House and two terms in the Senate. That is 12 years a piece. Nobody should ever be eligible to serve more than that in either chamber of Congress - whether served consecutively or not. We do need to get rid of the "career politician"... and before anyone says anything - yes, Joe Biden has definitely been one of them, and a part of the problem. However, other than that, the American political system of two parties has worked, and it's not going anywhere.

And I stand by everything I said about Trump... he is in a class by himself. The two party system doesn't need to go... he does.

A fence post would be a much better option than Trump. Would do a lot less harm.
Since you seemed to have managed to emerge from under that rock you've been hiding under to respond to my "fence post" comment, I'll ask you this for the third time since you haven't been able to respond with some sort of a positive example representing your "wokeness" other than to call other posters racists:

So you're woke. Again, I'll ask: What are you doing about your white privilege besides crying crocodile tears borne by your white guilt? My guess is that you are living your life just as you did before "becoming aware" and haven't done a darn thing about the systemic racism that's "errywhere", besides clutch your pearls.

Looks like the guy below has met you?

When politicians are unable to rise above party for country, then our political system is not working. When the two parties do everything they can to spite each other, the two party system is the problem. How do you not see our system is broke, and it was broke before Trump came along. Our politicians are at each others throats, not wanting to work together. Both Republicans and Democrats act like spoiled children, demanding to get their way. It's not about what's best for the country, and it hasn't been for some time now. It's about what further advances the party. What helps the party gain power. It's not about the citizens they are supposed to represent.

Well played, sir.
I have zero problem being truthful about Trump. He shouldn't be President. But that doesn't mean Joe Biden should be either. When the two parties prove themselves unable to provide good choices, or at least reasonable choices, then I firmly believe the two party system is failing. It's not necessarily about scrapping it, but it is definitely broken, and needs some kind of fix. Our choices in 2016 should not have been Trump or Hillary, and our choices now should not be Trump or Biden. We have to do better than that.
