2020 Presidential Race

I've never seen any politician combine of all their traditionally worst features into one package as neatly as Trump does. He has also been vulgar on an unprecedented level. Professional decorum and social norms mean nothing to him.
He was that way during the primaries. I was amazed at how many people seemed to support him because of that fact and not despite that fact.....the ones who say they like Trump because he is a big middle finger to the "establishment".
Those people have some serious issues.

What do you think Biden will do better than trump?
The best answer to this question is in the simplest terms. There would be a return to normalcy. A Biden Administration won't be so chaotic. He won't make every issue about himself. He won't whine about his alleged mistreatment as much and tweet something stupid 12 times a day (literally!). It will be quieter.

In other words we'd go back to kowtowing to every foreign adversary and we could expect more war, higher taxes and attacks on the 2A.

The feds like it “quieter “ it’s much easier to get what they want accomplished without all the constant attention being drawn to them .

Thanks friend
People who have never seen this don’t know how it can go bad fast.
My dad has been my best friend since I was 15 when he said “I’ve raised you, you can still live here but it’s time for you to be a man and make your own decisions “ he and mom have been that couple who’ve been together since 1962 and are always together. July 3rd he asked mom if they were married. Then snapped out of it. These little spouts of confusion have gotten longer but he snaps out. By Monday this week he had progressed to full on confusion. He called me and by the time I got to his house (30 minutes) he was interrogating mom. Demanding to know where my “real mother was”. He slapped her and pulled her hair. He’s never been a violent or angry man but he’s not himself anymore. I had to restrain him physically till the police got there. Again. Reasonably normal on July 2 this year.
It’s a huge problem that’s hanging out there with both candidates with Biden being in the lead towards the end result.

I apologize for the personal stuff.
No problem brother, Sheh-Elohim Yivarech Otcha or Sheh-Hashem Yivarech Otcha. Anytime!

Not be Trump.

I've asked him a couple times why he is supporting Biden, what policies of Biden is he behind. I got zilch for a response.
Not be Trump is first and foremost, everything else pales in comparison.
But I like Biden's take on healthcare, taxes, regulations, environment, education, 2a, judges, and women's choice much better.

Yes he has said that’s what will happen . He will get caught up in the quagmire in the sand box , he want do anything without committee , he ( they have to raise taxes ( no choice ) we already know what he thinks about a shot gun in the home and the no need for “ weapons of war /assault rifles “ .

Going back to being China's bitch because Hunter needs to be paid. Higher taxes. Back to the mainstream media being a lapdog for the regime. And in the background the VP will be trying to get O'Biden removed. Yeap sounds less chaotic

As opposed to being Russia's bitch?

So, Pelosi reading from one is the same as Trump, seemingly holding up one after he successfully smote the Philistines in the park?

She ran back to get her bible to read from in a photo op right after running down Trump for doing it . So yeah . The pandering has run amok .

I have no doubt you like Biden's take on those things. They are all horrendously despicable attacks on the citizenry so you should love them.

So my take on Biden’s record is that he knows how to recognize and follow the mandate.

He could have caved to the left after he got thumped by a 30-something gay mayor in Iowa.

He could have caved to the left after Bernie waxed him in New Hampshire and Nevada.

He didn’t cave and he won an overhwelming majority from a sane and moderate coalition who didn’t want to become GOP left.

Biden isn’t an idealist, like Bernie, and he’s 100 years old so he doesn’t GAF about 2024. He’s got no reason to cave to the crazies and his resistance to defunding police and tearing down statues shows that he understands the mandate, IMO.

I don’t think the mandate includes any of the crim law reforms I’d want to see. They’re in the platform for the same reason that he’s signing compacts with Bernie: to consolidate votes before the general. But he’s not going to get into office and pass a new crime bill.

The only real hiccup left for me is the VP pick because it does seem plausible that that person will be president at some point. I don’t mind Duckworth, I’d have to look into Demmings or some of the others. I am not a fan of Harris because I don’t think she understands how to follow a mandate. I like Warren better than Harris but she’d be a tough pill to swallow as well.
Hopefully you’re right about convincing Dems not to use Twitter as a guide for what most Americans want whether Biden wins or not. I agree we don’t want the crazies on either side having control. Biden did waffle on defunding though, he just didn’t use that word. Any form of removing funding is the same thing no matter what you call it but some of the narrative of the right has been to equate less funding with dismantling and those certainly aren’t equal. There is some chatter about full dismantling but, as far as I know, that has been limited to Omar (one of the crazies) talking about Minneapolis and the local leadership in Seattle.

It sounds like you believe that once Trump is removed that things will go back to “normal” politically. I’m not so sure. Then again the system does protect itself and Reps and Dems in Washington are the same at their core so it’s possible things return to the way they were. When I talk about my concerns of Biden being influenced it is because of the faction that has risen within the party with AOC, Omar, and others that seemed to influence Pelosi pretty easily. However, it’s also concerning that one of the things this virus has shown is how much control can be exerted over people. It’s no secret Dems stand for more government and a good chunk of this country is showing through this virus that they’re happy to suck from the government teat. I really believe Biden would be under tremendous pressure from his own party to push for more extreme policies than we’ve ever seen including the Green New Deal. Yes, it would still have to go through the House and Senate so those races are also extremely important but wasn’t there a bill just signed basically giving even more EO freedom to the POTUS? If Biden wins and the GND can’t be passed I have no doubt Biden would use EO to implement it. As I’ve said before, I do think we’re on a path that isn’t good and both the Reps and Dems are taking us down that path but the Dems are pushing us down that path at a faster pace with some of their policies and that’s my concern. Do we need change? Sure, let’s start with term limits and get people like Pelosi, McConnell, Graham, and Schumer out. Those people believe we exist to serve them and prop them up when it should be the opposite.

Anyway, thanks for the discussion RT. We don’t agree on many things but that’s ok. There’s no reason we can’t discuss those differences without tearing each other down.
