First, thank you for your service. And yes I was a Jaycee for many years, being a chapter president and COB, and was later awarded a lifetime achievement and membership award. As you and I both know, those were the good old days for the organization, especially before the law changed and the merger with the Jaycettes took place.
yes, they were great times. I was Ways and Means VP and then Chapter President. It was an absolute disaster when the laws changed. Wives were not very happy about the mixing of the sexes on road trips to visit other chapters and projects finishing up late at night.

Wether they like it or not they should not get paid. Those degrees they throw away because they don't put time and effort in to them are worh thousands of dollars. Also the gear, food, travel, access to doctors and trainers, and everything else these schools pary for. Its a joke they want more regular students would kill to have access to half the stuff these athletes do. The sense of entitlement and the victimhood status is pathetic.
Secondly fan attendance keeps going down with prices as they are. If prices keep going up attendance will keep falling. Making football less revenue.
Lastly these athletes are shooting themselves in the foot with all of these political statements they are making, its going to hurt them by pissing off a portion of fans which lowers revenue again, more than it helps them.
Then let them pay for it. If they pay players they can still pay for all of that access and pay taxes. Why do they have to be unpaid and only get that stuff?

Give me Bailey
Any other season I’d be right there with you... BUT it’s already near impossible for a freshman QB to shine in the SEC... let alone when he barely has an off-season. The guy has all the tools to be great and I’m sure he’s stuffed as much of the playbook/ signals/ reads as he can, but it’s gonna take time to transition from his high school’s way of doing things to Chaney’s offense. I have no doubt that he’ll be a big name one day, but without a summer of developing chemistry with the center/Oline as well as ironing out the timing of his receiver’s routes, id go with JG, Mauer, and Shrout over him for the time being. I can also guarantee a lot of the people calling for Bailey to start will be the first to write him off the second he makes a mistake.

What would separate him from those other QBs is the fact that he doesn’t make those mistakes you would expect a freshman to make.

Again, as I posted before he has an entire extra month to get the chemistry with receivers and learn the playbook since the first game was moved back to the end of September.

He has an extra month to work on the playbook before the first game. He has probably had the playbook for a few months now. Also I would bet the guys have probably ran through routes and stuff on their own without the coaches since they've been working out in Knoxville together for quite some time. Lastly Pruitt and Chaney felt comfortable to play Maurer in the third game of the season and start him two weeks later. With an extra month to prepare, if Bailey wants the job bad enough I feel confident in saying there is plenty of time to learn enough for the coaches to trust him.

2021 if HB is the real deal TN will have the talent to be on par with just about everyone in the country
I think this year can be 2015 with better results. We have the talent and I dont feel like we are relying on inexperience at important positions. I say better results because I believe we have a better coaching staff that won't piss down their legs in close games. I also believe this team may be more talented than the 2015 team, and that team was close to a breakthrough.

How do we know he doesn't make those mistakes? The guy hasn't played one down yet. Hasn't even had much real practice with the team. We have at least 3 other QBs on the team who supposedly had "it" and were going to be very good, if not great.

Too much expectation is being put on this kid, too early. When he does get to play, especially if it's early, I'm afraid that's going to translate to unfair criticism because he can't live up to those expectations. I don't necessarily mean from you. But I've seen this movie before.

I’m with you man. I’m not doubting the kids potential at all. I’ve watched his tape until the 4AM ******* birds start chirping outside my window. I’m psyched to see what he can do. I guess I just view him as more of a Peyton than a Favre and that takes way more prep. I‘d just be more confident with an off-season with more hands on coaching from Chaney, Tee, Weinke, and Friend. I also just don’t want the double toothed, grease stained walking GED’s of our fandom to write him off the first time he messes up.

My point was if he doesn’t have those mistakes this year then he is the anomaly and the one who should play

I agree with you hands on coaching would be better, just its not the end of the world. I def expect people to jump on him the first time he messes up, its just the way sports fans are GOAT to HERO to GOAT happens all the time in a matter of seconds. My 2 cents on the situation is if all things are close between JG and HB you go with HB. You let him learn this year, and the experience gained will be vital going into the future. Now if JG is head and shoulders above you go with him. Shrout idk what to do with him, he was Heltons guy he brought in so idk if the gets a fair shake. BM I wonder where he is at mentally.

Btw, I know I’m not RF royalty so most of my posts are scrolled over, but I’m still calling it: Jaylen McCollough will fill Warrior’s role and will be a name that opposing QB’s will know in the next few years

That’s not really saying much considering McCollough played as a Freshman last year and Warrior really only had his best year last year.... although he and Alontae gave up that TD causing us to lose to BYU.....

McCollough is the superior athlete in my opinion straight up.

Per Rob Lewis:

I have talked to a couple of people that I trust tonight who are close to the situation and I’m led to believe that no one, including Yves Pons himself knows what he’s going to do.

Not having a combine, not being able to work out for scouts has made an already difficult decision for a potential 2nd round guy even more difficult.

He is pushing it to the last minute.
