It’s so weird watching the people calling trump a wannabe dictator also want him to be more totalitarian in the federal response to a pandemic. Maybe they’d feel better if he’d send federal police to close down the Applebee’s?

I think COVID is a serious problem but it will be interesting to see if the media coverage changes after the election especially if Biden wins. I’m firmly sitting on the fence today.

Interesting......so, you say numerous areas appear to be at or near herd immunity? That would mean that some peoples speculation of much higher amounts (millions and millions) of people being infected and never even knowing it is true. That would mean that my guess about it being a 5 year plus issue until we see herd immunity is wrong. It would also mean that the death rate is much, much, much lower than it is thought to be.

I agree about the models. They have been nothing but terrible. Most models in general can be manipulated to say anything someone wants them to say.

Generally speaking, that is true it seems. There will always be exceptions of course. The CDC numbers for age of death from COVID are around 80 years old, which exceeds the normal life expectancy in this country.

If I’m not coughing like I have tuberculosis what good does a mask do? Half the people I see wearing them are only half ass wearing them with their nose exposed or wearing it like a chin strap. The grocery stores that had someone constantly wiping down carts and other high touch areas have done away with that as far as I’ve seen. Now everyone is fingering everything and everyone is constantly touching their face.

If you think the President has anything to do with some hospitals’ and States’ terrible leadership in terms of the PPE and hospital response and testing Issues, then you don’t understand how those things work. I’d say the same thing if someone tried to blame Obama if he was president

It helps prevent some liquids that exit your mouth and nose from contaminating the things your are describing. Where do you think the majority of this contamination originates?

So, if you see someone wearing a mask you might want to say "thank you".

The last time I was in a grocery store, I was in the produce section and wanted to buy an onion or two. There was an old man and woman that literally picked up every f'n onion and squeezed them like they were some kind of fruit. I'm sorry but pick one up and put it in your damn basket and move on, it's an onion!

Well, he does have something to do with people believing the initial hospital PPE shortages were "fake news". Didn't someone get fired because they went against his narrative?

He also said that the federal stockpile shortage was Obama's fault for not resupplying it. Although I guess he didn't want to explain why he didn't remedy that in his first 3 years.

Sweden also has not only seen a cease in deaths, but it's case rate is plummeting. Unlike Belgium and the Netherlands and most of the rest of Europe.

All without locking up.

Sure they botched their ability to protect the elderly in care homes, but they've since corrected that.

I’m saying wear it if you want to. Me breathing normally isn’t gonna spread any worse than touching my face multiple times and putting my hands on all kinds of things.

Lol. How do you put your mask on? And I’m guessing you throw it away after every use and grab another one that isn’t contaminated with you’re hazardous “spittle”.
