Most here in WNC/ETN are Fraser. Tried to buy one with rootball attached. Lasted about three months till it just died from shock.
If youre into extra work, Douglas Fir prolly works better & is hardier. If you can find one.

I went with purchasing live trees for a 3 or 4 year period back in the 2001-2005 time frame. Had great luck with all of them. Every time I drive by the house we lived in at the time, I always notice those trees and it brings back fond memories.What time of the year did you plant it?
