QB- D+ if we get the same JG we got last year. C- at best barring miraculous improvement.
RB- B, Gray looked good the last two games of the year. I like Chandler but he isn't elite. After that we don't know what we got
OL- A+ Best in the conference
WR- C+ Palmer is our number 1, after that we have no idea what we got. Replacing the heart and soul of the team in JJ there also
TE- F, without Pope we are flying blind here. Really need to add a transfer but missed on the best one available

DL- B+ lot of depth there, but no one spectacular barring a big jump for someone like Solomon, Middleton, or Emerson
Edge- C+, Bennet showed some promise, but we have no idea what we have here. And who is on the other side? We need Roman Harrison to make a big sophomore jump. But at best this is unknown
LB- B+ Henry is elite but who is next to him?
CB- A, think we have two all sec guys there this season
Safety B- may be a little generous here just because I trust Pruitt and Ansley. But we don't even know who is playing next to Tank there.

. . .

QB- B-, I feel like if JG doesn't show up, Chaney and Pruitt will play someone who will.
RB- A-, Agree with Newt that the OL helps here. Plus Gray is a beast.
OL- A
WR- A-, Sky's the limit with the talent, speed, and options we have here.
TE- C-, Lots of potential in the freshmen class, but nobody proven.

DL- B, agree with your comments here.
LB- B+, agree
CB- A, agree
Safety B-, agree. Also I like the freshmen options we have as well to get some playing time.

ST - A, Can't leave them out. Kicking and coverage are top-notch. Would like to see more in the return game (which I think we will this year).

I hope you’re right about that QB and WR projection

Was thinking about our team today. We're trying to make a big jump (and we really need to). But now we have to play an all SEC schedule. Most likely we add another tough team such as LSU, AU, or A&M to the schedule to go along with already playing bama, uga, and fl. If we're going to make a jump, we have to win all the games we won last year, and we need to win at least one, hopefully 2 of these other top games.

But can we make the jump? I think we're improving, but I'm not sure how much just yet. Just thinking about our position groups. What grade would you give them?

Just my thoughts. I think we're better than everyone we play outside of the big 3, but I'm not sure we are ready for them just yet barring a massive jump from JG or Bailey taking over and being the phenom we hope he is. What do you guys think? Where would you grade our positions?

Good post--- I'd say pretty spot on except that I think we are a bit stronger at WR than most folks think... true, a lot of untested talent, but with Gibbs and a few others, we could be okay...

My kids go to church and have friends there. They play softball and baseball and have friends there. Our school does a co-op so they go to school one day a week, they have friends there. This idea of lack of socialization is a myth.
Most home school kids still have that awkward social life, even though they do make friends in other places

Did I miss something? Why would Florida be the first game? To add in 2 games wouldn’t the logical way would be to add at least one sec game during weeks 1-3 when the entire sec plays out of conference anyway?

edit my bad I just saw where it will start sept 26

Mostly agree with your grades. An sec-only schedule does not help our perception of a rebuild imo...we have, at best, gone 5-3 in the SEC since...god knows when. But that win% would be worse than going 8-4. We could easily be improved this year, but have a lower win% and some will perceive that as regressing...and I hate that.

We're in the mini-NFL and I hope everyone takes that into context. This isn't Clemson's schedule...

My first asian girlfriend always pounded that first maxim into my head. She would talk about her past, but always ended with her having no regrets. She was a very strong person and I respected that ideal. Beating yourself up over your past truly does no good. All ya can do is learn from it, develop better personal systems to avoid repeating mistakes, and move on.

Played with some hypothetical schedules after the news came from the SEC. I ranked each SEC team, and gave weighted points from Highest to Lowest (14 to 1). I gave a +1 point for an away game, and a -1 point for a home game. Then I applied this data to each teams schedule. Using the currently scheduled 8 SEC games, UF, MIZZ, and TXAM were by far the weakest schedules. Which agreed with the SOS info I looked up, which helped me validate my simple formula I created out of thin air. The first photo shows SOS for the existing 8 games.

I then played around with some match ups across the board, it was extremely difficult to get everyone on an even playing field when trying to avoid duplicate match ups and maintaining even home and away games. The average SOS score I was trying to achieve was 75. I played with multiple scenarios, but I only see us getting some combination that involves Ole Miss and one of LSU, AU, or TXAM. The second photo was the scenario I came up with that seemed the most fair for everyone (sorry Mississippi State).

You’re doing it again, Devo. You’re being that guy. Stahp.
Lol just the facts. Not everything is rainbows, Pruitt knows it fell short of expectations. Hopefully he threw his anxiety pills down the toilet. Hope we see this JP from the very dang start
