I like playing UF week 1.

Didn't like our chances vs OU, honestly. We drop that game and suddenly there's a lot of pressure to beat UF, who will almost certainly be 3-0 and already have a tune-up SEC game under their belts.

We know the history of playing them in week 4. It doesn't go well for us. Might as well see how it goes in week 1.

Fauci is now suggesting that it might be "helpful" to wear goggles or a face shield along with a mask. Maybe next time we have a worldwide pandemic, we should think twice before we make an OCD germaphobe with a political agenda the government's point man for the official response. Fire away, I've got all day
Doesn't being a germaphobe come withe territory of being an epidemiologist?

Wasn't it Timmy Tebow that use to put John 3:16 under his eyes or jersey? I'd say as long as a player himself chooses to do it, it would be ok. Just can't be forced by the coach or other agent of the university I'd think.
And they changed the rule so that players were no longer allowed to do that.

I like not playing the cupcakes. Didn't want to watch either another loss or another game we're we don't show up and coast to a boring win. We'll come out for that game with our hair on fire no doubt. Just hope we play at a high level

True. ~IQ tests like Wunderlics are still quite valuable, much better predictors (long-term) than mere experience or references (nearly useless). But people with high affectivity and conscientiousness also do well. People with low affectivity and high neuroticism, not so much.
Well my IQ is 138 but my motivation is about 97. I’m smart but need to be motivated, so do a lot of my students.

I think you need to give the guy a break. He's been very busy and is obviously a bit behind on his reading. You do know he reads VolNation, right? This website is an essential national resource.

For example, I posted on June 13th the following so I'm guessing the good doctor is about 6 or 7 weeks behind on his catching up here. jmo.

When I made my comments about people wearing masks yesterday and in my view it probably not having any more real benefit that kids hiding under their desks during a simulated nuclear attack back in the 1950’s, I was thinking about what I generally see. Surgical masks are disposable and should only be worn once but it looks to me like people are wearing the same mask all the time. They sort of get dirty looking after a while. From what I’ve read from the Mayo Clinic and other health sites, surgical masks aren’t all that to begin with. Cloth masks should be laundered after every use. I don’t know how many people are doing that either and again, the ability of the cloth masks to stop the virus is limited at best. The most obvious omission in the wearing of the surgical masks or home-made cloth masks is the eyes. You need to protect your eyes and that’s going to require a good set of properly fitting goggles.

Read the full white paper I wrote on this at the following link. Reading time varies but average is probably around 3 hours. jmo.

Seriously? Any chance it at least gets revised to get pushed up or are we waiting till almost OCTOBER just to see our Vols?

And why in the world would they want to shove 10 games into so little time? Terrible idea imo. There needs to be more gaps when they have 5 DAY TESTS. Smh it's going to be a clusterf***.

Start sooner, end later. More gaps. Give us OU!!

This is crap. Crap, I say!

By the end of September hopefully the virus will have run its course. That’s what I’m getting out of it.

It's going to be so weird putting this year's record into any sort of context. We lose out on 3 gimme wins. If we were hoping for 9-3 originally, going .500 at this point would be a decent season. 6-4 would be quite good. 7-3 would be GREAT. Jmo
Yeah, I think 7-3 is a successful season under these circumstances. Our ceiling under the normal schedule was probably 9-3, so it's really just subtracting the buy games. I think success in this season will also be determined by who you beat. If we can pull an upset over one of Bama, LSU, and Georgia, we can hang our hat on that.

Without thousands on campus, it probably would, at least to a large degree.

If they are expecting a spike when students hit campus, as seems likely, that only gives them...from August ~20 (probably won't see the spike till 10 days later, at least)...giving them all of 3-4 weeks to beat it back down.

I have a bad feeling about this. Wish they'd just go remote. This is like telling MLB and NBA players to, rather than bubble, go join thousands on a campus and classrooms each day...then expect the season to go well...

Most students will be doing classes virtually. I don’t think we will see that big of a spike. The only question is will other sicknesses affect the covid test come fall.

Watch the MLB if they can contain their spread between the two reams currently infected. It should be a good sign that CFB could handle an outbreak

The number of total active covid-19 cases in the state fell again today, this time by 159. The transmission rate (Re) for the entire state also fell, to 1.05. More counties in the middle of the state appear to be going green. Knoxville's Re also fell today, from 1.11 to 1.09. The state continues to move in the right direction in the fight against the virus and we appear to be increasingly winning. jmo.

And for anyone who thinks the numbers were accurate to begin with, I have some air I would love to sell them.😉
