2020 Presidential Race

Can a leg-humper explain to me why Trump-approved absentee voting is OK (which is also done by mail) while mail-in voting is bad?
I would guess it's because it's easier to tie a ballot to voter using the absentee process vs mass mailing to all voters. The more ballots there are floating around, the more potential shenanigans.

Overall, I just don't see what's so hard about voting. We've got weeks of early voting in most places. We've got no questions asked absentee ballots in most places.

If you do not know the difference in the absentee balloting system and the vote by mail systems being proposed, no. You are willfully ignoring the differences or (and I don't believe this) are too dumb to understand them.

The GOP must have stood up to him or it would have been repealed.
You’re saying he would be impeached and convicted. That implies 20 GOP senators would turn on him. Right now, you have evidence for Mitt Romney and a corpse. Although I’m sure Susan Collins would express concern as she votes against the constitution.

I'd say more than 20 GOP senators would turn on him if he made an attempt to delay the election. There would be no coming back from that and they would turn in a heartbeat.

Given Susan's poll numbers, she might move past concerned to outraged.

Trump can’t delay the election so let’s not get distracted by the only issues that matter right now.
The failure of the Trump administration to respond to COVID-19 effectively and how that failure to respond led to the worse economy since the Great Depression.

The same judges appointed by Republicans who continually vote against their policies, at least at the SC level. It’s the same crap we have heard for decades “we just gotta elect more Republicans and x or y will be fixed”. More Republicans are elected and little to nothing changes and the cycle repeats. What did McConnell accomplish in the Senate? Paul Ryan in the House? Little to nothing
I agree

I have to pass a background check , be cleared , wait unlit it comes back , the be forced to pay for a safety course to carry it even though it’s a right . We won’t even get into the city , state , federal / commerce restrictions or red flag laws . Voting for a politician can and almost always does kill 10 of thousands of people all over the world . Tell me which is more dangerous and which is more restricted .. keep in mind they are both rights .

Tell you which is more dangerous between the right to own a gun that you can shoot and kill someone with and the right to vote? Lol

Agree: We know for sure Collins, Romney, and Murkowski would. My guess is just about all of them would. They don't want to fight that battle.

Indirectly, sure. Are we really fearmongering about the right to freaking vote this morning?

Yes because apparently some think one right is ok to restrict heavily but we should any of the others . I don’t believe any of them should be but if we are going to hand pick which ones are more important , that’s not the American way or how it was designed to be .
