No I'm just reading the tea leaves. If the MLB goes down everything else will probably follow
Yes. Isolate the vulnerable, if they’re willing to be isolated. Everyone else lives. Survival rate is 99.98% for people under 75. It’s higher than that for people under 55. The flu is more deadly for people under the age of 40. And if the CDC is right and many times more have had it than we’ve tested, the survival rate is even higher. So yes. This isn’t smallpox. It isn’t the Black Plague. At worst, it’s a flu for the majority of people. The goal was to flatten the curve to stop overflow of hospitals. Not to stop all life until this goes away or a vaccine is developed.I was asking a legit question. So, is your plan just to let it play out, and I guess treat those who actually get sick?

I don't think that's a terrible plan. I do think it's more serious than you do. In any event, I am ready for some football.Yes. Isolate the vulnerable, if they’re willing to be isolated. I’m sorry for those you know. With all due respect they are very rare if they were young and healthy going in. I too know people who had had it, worst they experienced was mild sinus infection. I didn’t say it didn’t kill anyone, but survival rate is extremely high except for the most vulnerable.I personally know two people in age bracket (mid-40s) who have spent weeks hospitalized on ventilators and some kind of dialysis - both of whom continue to struggle with lingering symptoms long after release from the hospital.
At worst, the flu tends to keep people home for a few days watching daytime soap operas and drinking orange juice.
This has killed 150,000 in just six months.
To downplay this as less than the flu (you said “at worst it’s like the flu”) seems completely incorrect.
You are right - this isn’t the plague or smallpox, but I think it deserves a more sensible respective reaction than calling it less than the flu.
It’s his persona on hereDid the NBA or NFL go on strike when MLB did? MLB just has to figure it out first. Gives NBA and NFL time to learn from mistakes and do it better.
BTW Catbone, my glass is always full. Just a varying amount of liquid versus atmosphere, but always full.
Be a VFL and fight for the good outcome. Don’t piss and moan all the time.

.
It means that people who died of cancer, heart attack, an infant who died of suffocation, and even car crashes and motorcycle accidents, but who also tested positive for covid, are marked down as covid deaths.I don’t disagree with the high survival rate - but this is really wrecking a lot of people who get it and survive - but after prolonged and very intensive medical treatment. Yes, a lot of people have mild symptoms like you described, but a lot of people are really getting long term issues that won’t show up in a simple death/survival stat.
I’m also amazed on the semantics gymnastics you used when saying a lot of people are dying “with”
Coronavirus not due to it. What in the world does that mean?!

With the data we have, we should be back to normal life. If you want to make us wear a mask, then do that. But sports should not be happening nor should schools be closed. I wouldn’t even test people unless they’re sick. All we’re doing is adding to the hysteria. Meanwhile the death rate continues to fall.
