The Atlanta Braves - Hello darkness my old friend

i will say this @TBrown part of the issue is the lack of pitching on the market over the next two years. You look around and there aren’t many teams that are gonna sell legitimately great pitching. Maybe the Cubs or the Reds could be intriguing (Gray and Quintana could be on the market this offseason if those teams flunk). The teams that are bad/sellers don’t really have anyone interesting.

Watching Clippers-Magic preseason right now and I have a take: The constant shoes squeaking is obnoxious.

How many pitching prospects did we trade for? Draft recently? He needs to hit as that whole thing is looking bad right now imo. Hell we didn’t even flip any of them for anything

We already had our main core right now plus Pache

Hit on Soroka and Fried.. thats all? Wright needs to a top of the rotation good

I wouldn’t say it’s looking bad we’ve won 187 games and the division the last two years lol. I agree AA was too conservative with prospects (Touki/Bryse/Gohara for example).

Winning with the core we already had tho essentially. Bought a monster Donaldson year as well

I guess my point is Soroka is an ace and Fried has the stuff and has developed nicely to be a good 1-2 punch. We need Wright to be good. I’m not saying that. I’m just saying if he’s a solid #3-#4 that will be fine and work also.

He needs to be solid. Especially with the lofty draft status. But if he’s a #4 guy we will be fine. Soroka is the ace, Fried has the best stuff, and then Wright giving us average—above average would work well.
Disagree completely. Soroka is not Buehler, Max, Stras, Flaherty, etc. and Max has to be consistent with a 3rd pitch to get deep.

We need a 1-2 badly and we aren’t going to pay for one.

We’ve got our core for the next six years in Acuna/Pache/Ozzie (and fingers crossed Riley and the catchers pan out). We’ve got time to get it right or go get an ace even if the next year or two we don’t get one. The Acuna/Ozzie contract extended our windows.

If Wright can be a TOR guy that’s awesome. But I don’t think it’s a necessity. A 160-180 inning with a 3.75-4.00 ERA over the next five years would be lovey.

Soroka is very good, and our best bet to be a #2/3 caliber pitcher for a long time. Just happens to be the best we have and most consistent

We disagree about Soroka’s ceiling. He won’t put up the K’s numbers of those guys but run prevention wise he will be just as good. Of course I’m about as bullish as anyone when it comes to Maple Maddux.

And that’s true. Nor have we been aggressive in the trade market. Which shocks me with AA. He was so aggressive in Toronto and other than the Syndergaard trade it worked out for him. Just odd.

Oh man I’m about to head over to the Best Fans In Baseball Twitter account so fast

Agree if you just wanna make the playoffs and hope for the best (lose).

I mean that’s like 90% of the battle since the playoffs are such a crapshoot lol. The Red Sox won the WS in 2018 and that rotation wasn’t great. The Royals won the WS in 2015, can you name two of their starters on that team?

You mentioned Buehler is this a bad time to bring up we took Kolby Allard instead of him in the draft?

Also I haven’t fully given up on Touki yet. He was pitching really well in the spring and the dude strikes guys out at the major league level.

So with NFL teams planning on letting at least 10-15K fans in the stadium I’m hoping by playoff time we will have fans in MLB stadiums
