Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Scientists should not or cannot address economic concerns. They don't know jack about economics unless they have a degree in it.
Yet they do when calling for an extended shutdown. They spread fear and then any effort to get the economy moving again is met with cries of killing grandma. It's why all opinions like that need to be filtered before hitting the airwaves. This admin has done a horrible job at that type of communication

After falling for months, Covid-19 hospitalizations in the US are nearing April's peak
California, Texas and Florida have seen a surge in cases with hospitalizations overwhelming some areas.

After falling for months, Covid-19 hospitalizations across the US are on the upswing and approaching the peak levels seen in April.
The reason is simple: the US is experiencing a surge in cases, with states such as Florida, Texas and California reporting thousands of new confirmed cases in recent weeks.
At the peak of the pandemic in April, 59,538 people were hospitalized nationwide on April 15, according to the Covid Tracking Project. That number reached its lowest level on June 15 with 27,772 people hospitalized. But as of July 20, that number has climbed back up to 58,330 -- just hints beneath April's high.

No, the American people want to hear the truth from experts and not a pathological liar like Trump.
You mean like the one who said there is no need to wear a mask or this virus is no big deal to us? And the facts are this virus has a survival rate of at least 99%. This is all about collapsing the economy to get your senile, incompetent, corrupt O'Biden elected

We shut down once. We are already regressing on our reopening phases in some places and now everyone has to wear a mask. I see more shutdowns coming.

I was fairly surprised to see restrictions lifted in Texas/Florida/Arizona only to have them reenacted mere weeks later, so much so that I wouldn't rule out the possibility if situations in other conservative states were to worsen significantly (they won't), but part of me feels as if you can only give the people one "move back two spaces" card before they flip the game board if you try pulling that nonsense again in the face of a weekly/daily death count that's nowhere near its peak.

Right, Mr, Conspiracy Theory. That's exactly what happened.

*Hopefully Clay's still letting everyone know that it's all just a big hoax.
It is.

Are these plenty of people working with other adults or children for 8 hours a day? Small children for the most part won't wear a mask for 8 hours a day while at school. The job that teachers do can be performed digitally. Just like Church can be virtual, so can school.
What do you think day care is? The kids may not be in school but a large amount will be shifted into daycare.... just like they are now.... digital learning is no where near the same as in school learning..... educationally or socially...... I feel no sympathy for teachers..... I had to make a ton of adjustments to my life when this hit.

The one who followed the available data and adjusted as more became available.

As opposed to Trump who undermined the evolving CDC, NIH and NIAID recommendations at every turn, who now tries act as if he just got bad info from Fauci.

I wouldn't doubt that you totally buy into this charade.

teachers should have their pay cut

It’s fascinating to read this argument . One the one hand you have data from all over the world saying they either didn’t close schools or have reopened them for months without any problems ( These are the people on the right that are told all the time they are antiscience ) and this groups wants to open our schools . On the other hand hand we have the group that constantly claims systemic racism in schools because they don’t the opportunity for education from lack of guidance from home , poverty , lack of food , lack of money to have what other kids have like laptops , and a lot of times school is the only place they receive structure or food or resources to get any education . This group wants to keep our schools closed . It’s weird to watch it play out . To the ones wanting to keep inner city schools closed , you do realize the monsters you are advocating to create in the coming years , right ?

Undermining? Do you mean by not instituting nationwide knockdowns?

When have we started forcing healthy people to stay home, close their business, don't go to work or wear a mask? This isn't China

Dude, just go back to the original COVID briefings...

One example when Fauci and Birks were continually emphasising the importance of masks... Trump felt somehow he must offer a half dozen times that it's not a requirement and the he'll not be doing it.

Maybe you have a better theory of why his rallies were practically devoid of masks and distancing?

How many people are in hospitals now compared to people on hospitals at this time last year?

Wrong as usual. Liberals support local businesses over chains and corporate stores.

This could quiet possibly be the stupidest thing you’ve ever posted on here , its the equivalent of stabbing yourself in the hand because stabbing yourself in the leg over and over again was just too easy . You can’t possibly be this dumb .

It wasn't a requirement because teh ****ing federal government doesn't have the power to require them!

Yep you still tow the Trump line... I think I recall you ridiculing those original death predictions, but at least you can fallback on overreporting... good news is, masks are now Patriotic.. Fauci probably disagrees though.
