No, we can cut spending to reduce/eliminate a deficit. Yeah, I know I'm talking crazy ****.

Dude.

FFS. Are you pulling out the "old-man-spinning-a-circular-argument-to-drive-sane-people-crazy" routine?

If we HAD cut spending to eliminate a deficit, then we wouldn't have a deficit.

No deficit, no issuance of new debt.

Derp.

Nashville's $4.516 tax rate per $100 is lower than:
  • Memphis: $7.77 per $100 assessed value
  • Knoxville: $5.0457
  • Chattanooga: $5.074
And that is after the increase! How about you know something about comparative tax rates before you blab some more?
Might add in the stupidity of doing that with the unemployment numbers we currently have and businesses at half capacity at best in a lot of industries.

Are those 100,000 you mentioned not adding to tax pool in anyway?

A deficit can be eliminated without reducing debt, a deficit can be sutained (for a time) without accumulating additional debt.

Reducing/eliminating the deficit is great but it's our debt that's going to kill us and not a single POTUS I can remember reduced that.

Can you not read? Nashville was not taxing property enough. I would direct you to the Metro Tax Assessor's office for any other questions.

Dude. Seriously. You don't have a clue.

Please just stop spouting off complete crap. Read a book on basic economics... I don't know. Read something. Anything.

Unsafe work conditions or no paycheck which leads to issues obviously. I didn’t say slavery but keep up that dumb argument. You would’ve been the ones rallying against safer work conditions in the industrial revolution.
Are they only qualified to do a single job?

Where have you been with this attitude for all essential workers? They're still in warehouses slinging cases and pallets for you. Still sticking shelves, checking and bagging your groceries, driving trucks, etc. Why are teachers the only ones in danger?

Yes. It's why I question the stupidity of the idea of doing that with the current situation surrounding unemployment and the local economy. Sounds like a great time to add a massive tax hike.

Are those 100,000 you mentioned tax exempt?

I want experts from all sides. This includes ones to address economic concerns and how to balance them with the concerns of lab rats
Scientists should not or cannot address economic concerns. They don't know jack about economics unless they have a degree in it.

No, the American people want to hear the truth from experts and not a pathological liar like Trump.

I've always believed that TDS is actually a condition where one doesn't possess the ability to accept anything that Trump says as not factual.

It may soon be recognized as the disability that it is.

After falling for months, Covid-19 hospitalizations in the US are nearing April's peak
California, Texas and Florida have seen a surge in cases with hospitalizations overwhelming some areas.

After falling for months, Covid-19 hospitalizations across the US are on the upswing and approaching the peak levels seen in April.
The reason is simple: the US is experiencing a surge in cases, with states such as Florida, Texas and California reporting thousands of new confirmed cases in recent weeks.
At the peak of the pandemic in April, 59,538 people were hospitalized nationwide on April 15, according to the Covid Tracking Project. That number reached its lowest level on June 15 with 27,772 people hospitalized. But as of July 20, that number has climbed back up to 58,330 -- just hints beneath April's high.
