You are showing anecdotal news stories of a few cases which were incorrectly categorized. I freely admit there is a small number of COVID deaths that are incorrectly labeled. But, the overwhelming majority of cases of people dying from COVID is because people are dying from COVID. And yes, there is a lot of evidence that the COVID deaths are appropriate or are undercounted (1).

Re: deaths "from" vs "with", you just have to understand how deaths are tallied in the US. People with COVID die from respiratory failure, MIs, renal failure, strokes, arrhythmias, PEs, etc. If someone is hospitalized with COVID and is intubated and dies from a massive PE, that counts as a COVID-related death. Similar to how deaths because of something like pancreatic cancer.

The point is that the number is tainted and we actually dont know the extent. It's a shame.

That number isnt accurate. We know this.
What do you think the actual death rate is. I do believe the number is inflated because of some documented deplorable reporting habits. I still think the number of deaths is significant and we need to do better with guidelines.

What about the other 95 % who have it and don't know it? I'm sure all those 10x the number of confirmed cases caught it from someone with obvious symptoms who coughed violently directly in their face.
Due to what we previously knew about viruses is that unless you are symptomatic you will not spread the disease. Period. Asymptomatic meant nothing to the spread of disease. Now all of a sudden we throw that out because we can spread it because of asymptomatic cases? I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around this because of my previous knowledge of viruses.

On the other hand. I'm finding this virus to be a blessing on disguise because it is forcing the medical world to throw out what is previously known and search for new answers. Medical science will advance due to this disease in a good way. (This is also why science is nothing to believe in)

Why does it have to be that just because people disagree with you it means they don't care about people or they have no compassion for others? Why can't it just be that they don't think what's best for all is not what you think is best for all? You know, this really is the tactic used by a certain political party and their supporters.
It’s not a political tactic. It’s the truth. Even if it came out years later that wearing a mask did nothing, i would lose zero sleep over it. Because I did what I thought would help my fellow citizens and keep my parents from getting sick. Can you just be a human?

Just coz a billionaire got a bigger yacht doesn’t mean it benefits the American people. The middle class is gasping for air and 30 percent of small businesses shut down. Don’t let them fool you. If a company’s stock increases, what does that do for you?

It means my portfolio went up in value. Many, many middle class people invest too. The market is an indicator because it considers employment numbers, revenues, and predicts future events.

The pandemic basically sped up the closures of those small businesses that were already struggling. Sure, some new ones might start struggling. But good brands (even small businesses) navigate the waters. Good local restaurants figured out how to survive without patrons in the dining room.

The government bailed out people too, which was helpful. The PPP loans created a huge cushion, and a study came out that said those that are unemployed spent 10% more than normal. People are spending, and the economy is not that bad.

There's been years of study that say masks do next to nothing

We may not know exactly the number but that's okay. We know that it is relatively close and is a huge cause of concern. We have mobilized efforts across the world and have started to regiment treatment in a systematic fashion and are lowering morality even in the ICUs. We may have actual vaccines by the end of the year. It really is amazing to see the scientific community pull together and work on a common goal. Makes me proud to be a physician scientist.

Lol. Another reference to political party.

I saw they started a double blind placebo test on one vaccine this past week, great news. Thanks for the work you do.

No, that's the point. There is so much corruption, so many lies and deceitful practices by our medical professionals and politicians that I do not believe anything they say. It is perfectly fine to yell and protest, but don't sing in church. it is fine to gather in pride parades, but do not gather anywhere else. It is perfectly okay to gather for BLM, but do not play sports, go to school, or to church, and don't you dare sing.

The death rate is overinflated, the infection rate is overinflated, one set of medical professionals say wear a mask, another set says masks do nothing. The Who is corrupt, the CDC has been wrong, Fauci has contradicted himself more times than we can count, and the media lies through their teeth and may be the most corrupt institution in America. All we can look at is the data, and in my view, the data supports going back to school, playing sports, and ending lockdowns while trying our best to protect the most vulnerable.
just wear a fing mask dude

That's not what our politicians and media were saying...
I can't help that. All the people keeping it political and pushing agendas are reprehensible. This should be a unifying time. A time to work together to end this crap. Instead we have our politicians ruining it for everyone, as usual.

I know football season happening at the moment is cloudy at best. But does it seem like a lot of “sports journalists” really are rooting for their own industry’s sports to not be played? Yes, Dan is a hack, but he’s not the only media member that seems to have this peculiar stance.

I’d pay good money to see Dan Wolken drawn and quartered.

Then why are so many people catching it? Most people with symptoms are staying home
