Mortality Analyses

Wrong again allvol123....
we will find something that you are good at....maybe you should stop posting. I can be like a big brother to you.

Great job. You linked to a table where the column header says "case fatality rate".

Again, good job posting to the interwebs your idiocy.

In a huge neon sign...."I am titansvolsfaninga and demand you know how stupid i am."

what kind of dictionary do you use? What does mortality mean to you? What does fatality mean to you? Asking for everyone.....

I said

I do stand by that calculation. 3.9% of individuals that test positive for covid die.

I dont think he is saying 2018 was normal. I think he is pointing that the flu of 2018 was worse/as bad in Ohio and no one freaked.

How many excess deaths in Jan-Mar 18 vs normal compared to Apr-Jun 19 vs normal would seem to be a better measure of whether or not local concern is supported by data.

Dude you are literally on an island with your stupidity.

There are actual definitions and formulas for mortality rate and case fatality rate. And they are different.

We are literally half a year into a damn pandemic and you are running around like a 4 year old screaming 3.9% mortality rate.

You are a fool.

So yet another MD that doesn’t agree with you so they are automatically disqualified? Classic lib defense. She also does work with MSNBC. I am sure you knew that right?

Fair enough. If she sleeps with me, I'll consider her conclusions valid.

Go ahead and set this up. Thx.

poor allvol....so simple.....so dull.....

If there is similar results from a year where we didnt freak out it seems like it does the job.

Right now the deaths in the US is still less than what it historically has been for more than half my life.

I still dont know where everyone elses line is, but for the "worst death rate we have seen in 10 years," is not worth the fuss we are seeing.

Did you factor in that everyone that tests positive with Covid gets counted as Covid death even if they die from a car wreck?

From work I did previously, the dying with COVID numbers are likely a low fraction of deaths outside nursing homes. Inside nursing homes is tougher because there can be some high standard risks of death for this population. Alzheimers patients are a good example. There we need to rely on excess deaths to help guide us. And as you could see on the plot I provided earlier, other than missed deaths early, I think excess deaths and COVID deaths have tracked fairly well. Yiu have to acknowledge the large number of missed deaths early when considering the overcounted ‘with’ deaths. Co-morbidities are not really included in that.

In Virginia the health department is enforcing it now and while the individual can't be charged the business can lose it's license so now all business's are enforcing it. I have my feelings on whether or not it works but I'm willing to give it a try, it's only temporary to go into a store for 15 minutes so it's really not a big deal
I have no problem with the store requirements. They are between the rock and the hard place with their licenses being threatened for compliance.
Saw the full gear grandma today. Mask goggles, gloves and the final topping...a full face shield.
