don't know who dreamed this up but it is brilliant! A worldwide pandemic is absolutely the only thing that could possibly derail the Trump reelection bid!

It happened and the democrats have taken the ball and ran with it!

Everyone has become so brainwashed that common sense no longer exists. All the talk about deaths, ventilators, hospital ships, and mobile hospitals springing up has blinded us to the reality.

That virus has mutated and weakened but no one will talk about that.

When re reported 2.5 million cases, it was discovered through antibody testing that maybe we underestimated it by a factor of ten! Instead of 2.5 million infections maybe there are over twenty million???????

It's all a bunch of bull crap! Its a virus that can hurt sick people --those at risk include the obese, diabetic, copd, an heart ailments but the healthy have very little to fear.

I can say this because I am a Covid 19 survivor. Matter of fact I am infected as I write this. I had one symptom and one symptom alone. I have a rash on my right arm. Its sortta like a very mild case of poison ivy like we had as kids. I am 79 years old and it couldn't even give me a fever! It only gives me a small rash!

AND WE SHUT THE COUNTRY DOWN OVER THIS!!!

I am in the healthcare trenches. Been doing this a long time. This has to be the biggest boondoggle that I have ever seen in my life.

My firm opinion is that you can’t trust any numbers bc at any level the books are being cooked.

What I do know is that the panic merchants are out in full force and the louder they are the more skeptical we should be of them.

I’d suggest you sharpen your razors edge also .. Liberal wanting Trump out of office that they are will to do “ whatever it takes “ in an election year to keep him from getting votes including crashing the economy over numbers that nobody can get a grip on . Different tests , methods , death accounts , false positives , not reporting any negatives only positive results . Governors and mayors taking control of cities and shutting down private businesses. Occam’s Razor is staring you in the face .

Considering how badly the left wants Trump out of the White House, Occam’s Razor would apply. The simplest and easiest way to remove Trump is to destroy that which made him successful, the economy.

Not really sure what I'd give Trump credit for at this point regarding the pandemic. He's pretty much done nothing other than obfuscate the truth, attack science and scientists, and set a poor example.

As a leader, he's worthless... but this really shouldn't be a big surprise to anyone, even Trump supporters. He has no vision other than getting re-elected... THAT is his vision and goal for America. PERIOD. So, if you see the world through this prism, everything he does makes perfect sense. It's not about us or America... it's all about Donald J. Trump.

We have seen numerous examples of covid deaths being counted that were any where from motor vehicle accidents to Hospice patients..... There are also several reports of positive results when not getting tested...There is also questions about the testing due to the very high amount of asymptomatic patients.

Are the culprits hospital admin? Are they doing this because the hospital gets additional funds if they test positive for the virus?

I would think there'd be a paper trail to dissuade this, wouldn't you? I mean, doing this would constitute fraud, and potentially result in any such hospital getting into super hot water, no?

Maybe but I wouldn't be so sure, I get everyone is frustrated and with good reason.

But put on a mask, give it a few weeks and if it doesn't work then we try something else. Give it a honest try and see what happens

If it were just a few missteps here and there then that’s one thing. But to have quite a large portion of number manipulations in multiple states is different. The numbers manipulations are happening in other countries as well.

System overwhelmed? Like tons of hospitals were supposed to be but never happened? Like the thousand upon thousands of ventilators NY were supposed to have needs but never did? Or the ship Trump sent NY that they would need because their hospitals couldn’t handle things yet was barely even used? Also, if the system is overwhelmed, and obviously has problems recording correctly, how do you trust any of these numbers? Why are more and more healthcare workers speaking out about the overblown case counts?

At some point EL, if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck then you know the rest.

Lack of reporting and coverage of plummeting death rate.

Death rate increased due to forcing nursing homes to take Covid cases.

Look if we tested for the flu like we have tested for Covid our flu seasons would look like a plague. But we don’t and it’s often overlooked.

I’m not going to do the research for you. Frankly the numbers and the reporting is so bad that it wouldn’t do any good. All I can say is I’m knee deep in this and it’s a freaking joke.

The rich always get away with committing crimes. And yes hospitals are getting money for every positive COVID patient. Yes it’s fraud and dirty. But healthcare is BIG money.

Paper trails have always dissuaded fraud. There's no way it could be possibly happening here.

Alabama’s data is absurd. There are 20 days they’ve reported a 100% positive test rate. On July 11 they reported 3,656 new hospitalizations. Up from a rolling 7 day average of 36 new hospitalizations per day. Some bubba is fat fingering the data

If you're a 1st hand witness, why don't you go the Whistleblower route and report those that are supposedly committing crimes? Naturally, i agree with much of your post.

If you go back to the beginning of this, DJT took steps to mitigate the risk with travel bans and airport "lockdowns". I guess those things fall under the president's discretion due to Federal Borders and Customs and the FAA. Once the virus gets in and starts spreading, I am not sure what else the president is supposed to do. Can the POTUS force compliance of governors/states in this situation?

He could lead. And, he isn't. His fear of being seen in a mask, until it became politically obvious he should, is a good example.

I've defended aspects of Trump's response. Many of the early problems were not on him. It didn't appear our public health officials were sending strong warnings to him about the outbreak until late February. The testing failures were a problem with the CDC - and while the buck might stop with him, there wasn't a direct tie where I think he made a bad decision that caused the issue. He made the right call on pushing back on New York's ventilator requests - those numbers were highly inflated and keeping the ventilators elsewhere turned out to be the right call (not sure it helped because I don't know if the other places needed them either, but New York's numbers were too high and he was right on that). Also, I think there was huge overreaction to his embracing HCQ and while I think the jury is still out on just how helpful and when it is helpful, I think it is clear there is some reasons to be optimistic.

With all of that said, there are failures to that come from him. His leadership style, or lack of it. His inability to get things done without picking fights to do it. The lack of trust he has earned. His leadership through chaos in the White House and across the federal branches. His tendency to steamroll dissent and create a yes men culture. All of these things are hurting our federal coordination and driving a lack of coordination that leads to mixed messages and lack of public trust. In my opinion, he has failed us there - not through a series of decisions - but through his divisive and chaotic style.
