The 1994 crime bill makes this a non-starter. It's the toughest piece of crime legislation passed through Congress in the last 40 years. It was authored and sponsored by Joe Biden.

And the Trump Campaign is trying to have it both ways. In ads targeting African-Americans they will mention the 1994 crime bill, but in other ads they suggest Biden will de-fund the police... even though he has said otherwise. They need to pick a lane.

Lol... and a chunk of his own constituency now hates it. I don’t think Joe is gonna want to hang his hat on that one when the BLM crowd comes around.

Biden probably doesn't want to talk about the 1994 crime bill. It was Draconian in it's punishment of simple possession drug offenders, but how can the Trump Campaign legitimately argue that Biden is soft on crime in light of this? It's not going to be an effective attack... and if they try to have it both ways, it will only render both attacks ineffective. I don't care what they do, they are going to lose either way... but their attacks have been unfocused. Trump is not running a good campaign so far.

Trump has been a mess since Covid hit, but I’m not sure there’s even been a campaign up until now.

Huh? Trump has been running campaign rallies for over a year. It was during a campaign rally in Cincinnati on August 1st of last year, when he memorably said that "We will be ending the AIDS epidemic shortly in America, and curing childhood cancer very shortly,".

My older sister was diagnosed with the Swine Flu in the middle of September in 2009 at UT Medical Center. I remember watching the Tennessee/Florida game at the hospital. Her circumstances were especially sensitive because she was also a cancer patient at the time. She recovered from the Swine Flu but not from the cancer. She died on May 26, 2010. I don't care enough about it to get into an argument. All I will say is that I saw no evidence of this myself and I knew someone who had it. The Swine Flu was nowhere on the same scale as the Coronavirus and nothing that the Obama Administration either did or didn't do serves as a defense for the Trump Administration's mishandling and underestimating the Coronavirus. This is what Trump does... he plays "what-about-ism" and coming from a president, it's pathetic. There is never any accountability. If he can't blame someone else for his shortcomings than he will bring up something about Obama, even when it's over something completely inapplicable. Trump is not a leader.

There's enough blame to go around just like there was 11 years ago. It was a nightmare just like this virus.
We still have the same problem we did then. Bureaucracy bloated CDC and NIH. Doctors who haven't set foot in a hospital in years making decisions and changing them daily. In some cases putting out multiple guidance that contradicted each other in one day.
Mind you, I'm not following anything daily. I'm taking a break while I'm off.
You've mentioned your sister before, I'm sorry you lost her.
