Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Goodness...something seems off here. On Volquest a poster over there said his wife and a co-worker went to get tested, they filled out the paperwork but got tired of waiting so left before they had the test. Then they both got a message that they tested positive......and who says Trump can't ramp up the testing? LOL

People need to be held accountable for this crap, if possible charged with a crime

FOX 35 INVESTIGATES: Hospitals confirm mistakes in Florida’s COVID-19 report

Countless labs have reported a 100 percent positivity rate, which means every single person tested was positive. Other labs had very high positivity rates. FOX 35 found that testing sites like Centra Care reported that 83 people were tested and all tested positive. Then, NCF Diagnostics in Alachua reported 88 percent of tests were positive.

How could that be? FOX 35 News investigated these astronomical numbers, contacting every local location mentioned in the report.

The report showed that Orlando Health had a 98 percent positivity rate. However, when FOX 35 News contacted the hospital, they confirmed errors in the report. Orlando Health's positivity rate is only 9.4 percent, not 98 percent as in the report.

Anyone surprised?

My friend in Florida shared this with me this morning, after we discussed the hundreds of labs reporting 100% positive rates.

It's absolutely unforgivable that policies are being made based on ridiculously-inaccurate data. I hope DeSantis launches a large-scale investigation.

That's fine. I understand the content in @Tin Man 's two posts in this thread.

I don't see how an objective person could say the issue is politicized on one side of the aisle. To me, it has been politicized on both sides. And continues to be politicized. The vids of MAGA mobsters acting a fool are disappointing (if not staged). The vids of mask-less folks robbing, looting, and assaulting others are equally disappointing.
You can add the people wearing masks yelling and berating someone that doesn’t have a mask as well.

Absolutely, these corrupt idiots need to be held accountable. And don’t think for a second this is only happening in Florida

If we did a similar study on daycares in America I believe you would find the same thing.

Trump/DeVos and Co. are spot on that kids are perfectly safe to go back to school. They are literally in the safest demographic possible and are proving more and more to not be "super-spreaders". The biggest thing is protecting the teachers/administrators that are in the at-risk categories. In that case they can have a younger proctor go administer the room for the day while the teacher zooms in.

There are some very simple common-sense solutions that will keep everyone safe when going back to school. It's a shame that we have Anything But Trump politicians that will continue to say no to some easy common sense solutions and pump fear into their lemming followers.

This is a bizarre statement. If there are in fact, "tons" of children who live in households where they are being abused, then they will still be abused whether school is in session or not. Unfortunately, the abuse of children doesn't just take place between the hours of 8 am and 3 pm Monday thru Friday.

Also, it isn't just "old people" who are dying from the Coronavirus, and it isn't just "old people" who are at risk of contracting it in schools that are open. There are staffing considerations to think about. Adult teachers can spread the disease to each other, and good luck finding substitutes right now. They are going to hard to come by.
I could have worded that better. The instances of abuse will increase will increase.

The unions are idiots. Once distance learning becomes the norm, teachers can be anywhere, so let's get a teacher living in MS to become VA certified and pay MS scale. Cost of educations should drop by 50% in most large cities.
More likely outsourced to China, IMO.

Considering that their peak infections likely occurred around 3/23 or so and we were just getting testing ramped up then and realizing we had a problem - in some ways, yes....there problem was they were going about completely business as usual while the virus was raging around them and they didn't have the death signal yet to realize it was out of control. They ran the experiment that the rest of us listened to.

I figured it was their mismanagement of the elderly given we have seen a population of 300 million plus making 50-60k new cases a day can barely produce daily death totals that matched NY at their peak.

Daycares here never shut down, and I haven't heard of a single incidence of transmission in one.
