I'd been just fine with Butch Davis in Knoxville, but I don't think he would've catapulted Tech up to OU/Texas's level in 9 seasons

although as mentioned, this is merely crystal ball speculation stuff

What I find funny is the fact that if Cincy can score 26 on OU then Texas Tech is going to just have a field day on that OU defense...No disrespect to Cincy's offense but man oh man, Kelly needs to learn that a defense is a wonderful thing

probably could be said in years past, as he pretty much felt like he could just outscore the other teams, but not the case now

coaches grow in their jobs and this is one such area for Leach. Canning his DC about 10 hours after the OSU game last year was a positive step for him

yep, Tech's defense has improved quite a bit
currently top 20 against the run, which is solid considering that teams try awfully hard to establish the running game against them to keep the ball away from his offense
