There haven't been any big names dropping like flies. A few guys have refused to express interest while they guide their current team through the rest of the season. That's completely normal. Fulmer's firing was announced how long ago? Two weeks? Relax.
Well you can't base the OU game on how good of a coach he is...He has beaten OU 2 out of the last 3 timed they have played but make no mistake about it, OU is a damn fine team and will be a challenge for anyone who faces them...Certainly going to be the game of the week for sure...What makes me laugh is if Leach loses the game then the nay sayers will be out in force on the board screaming about what a loser he is yet the guy/guys they are backing have losses as well...Don't base it on that stuff or We will never get a head coach
148 pages and there are still posters tyring to paint the Texas Tech program as UT-Chattanooga when Leach took over. Until this season (one season) the Texas Tech program has been in the same position it was in before Leach. Almost identical records. Why do we continue to lie and say Texas Tech was in bad shape when he took over?
quit holding Leach to a higher standard than the other candidates
none of the other candidates for the Tennessee job could have taken over a lowly Texas Tech program and won the Big 12 South during a period where OU and Texas have been so dominant and each won National Championships
NONE
and please don't even try to make a case that they could. Again, it's Texas F'ing Tech
They haven't won the South yet.
Yes, I know
My point is, Leach's detractors are basically insinuating that Leach is not a suitable candidate because he has not won the Big 12 South
I would contend that none of the current candidates could have taken a Texas Tech program to a Big 12 South title during a period that's seen such dominance from Texas and OU, with both schools winning national championships and winning 10-12 games per year
All that said, the fact that Leach is 10-0 and one win away from just such an accomplishment is extremely impressive
One year doing it out of 9 really isn't that impressive.
A great coach wins more than 8 games a year. Tennessee just fired a guy that averaged that this decade.
