Gun control debate (merged)

There have always been and will always be idiots. The fewer the better; and if they're not armed, better still.

The problem is big urban cities seem to gather them up in large quantities and the leaders of those cities seem not to mind or at least their polices say that . Stop projecting the problem onto an inanimate objects and fix the massive idiot and acting out problem . Less idiots acting like idiots mean less shootings . Oh look a new and novel approach .

It has nothing to do with voting democrat or some sort of Democrat ideology that someone should have a vicious dog and killing people with a guns. You can't control the idiots. You keep posting the same crap. Blah, blah, blah, evil Democrats and their policies. What is a Republican policy that would've prevented this?
Says the one who votes democrat and tries to defect from any and all problems arising from Dem. policies and leaders ... blah blah blah

I'm all for less idiots. Urban and rural. White and black. Republican and democratic.

I'm also for fewer guns.

I haven't seen a single problem arising from the Dems policies in the last 4 years. Blah, blah, blah......

Then you have a huge problem , the national guard was just called out to get control of the idiots and there’s a report saying just last month alone over 4 million background checks were ran for gun purchases .

8 million guns sold since March. Y'all can bitch and moan all you want, but guns aren't going anywhere. If anything, recent events have strengthened the case for the 2A.
Yippee, more armed idiots. If everyone had a gun, the advantage of having a gun is nullified.

I've resigned myself to the fact that the US will continue to fly in the face of reason and common sense, and pay an unconscionable price in doing so.

You mean by not having a background check and ID for voters ? I agree . I’m past the point of trying to reason with gun grabbers . When you have to be vetted and allowed or denied a right based on your background , then forced to pay for a state sponsored course telling you what you can and can’t do, before using all of your other rights , then we can talk about common sense .

Guns are not a problem, it's the proliferation of them in society that is. The fear pron around the 2a is why it's an equalizer and not an advantage anymore.

You could have stopped after the first sentence and been correct . You just couldn’t though , could you ? Lol

It's true that we will never understand each other's positions. I've tried, but to no avail.
We're just left with a lot of unnecessary pain, death, and misery. (IMO)
For what it's worth, my perception of you is that you are a good and intelligent guy with a good life and a good wife.
Which makes it all the more dumbfounding.

Are you trying to compare good guys with guns with bad guys with guns? Really, How do you think that will work out for your narrative.

I'm not "comparing" anything. It's a damn good thing those cited were armed and (again) there's no way in hell that's anything more than just scratching the surface, particularly since the majority of defensive gun uses do not involve an actual shooting. It happens all the time.

That last part is why it’s so easy for me to say they are our rights to use . Not our rights to use when the government or some political group allows us to or keeps us from using . Again common sense would be that we are vetted and allowed to use all of our rights or denied by the government based on your history and background . Then made to pay for a state sponsored course telling us how they should be used . Which is , all or none ?

Edit : To be honest , at this point in the game I’m for all of them to be done that way . I want to watch the heads pop off of groups and political leaders when they realize their voters blocs are going to have to qualify to vote .

I guess the debate will have to be what "rights" 2a actually grants. And it's a debate in which I have absolutely no desire engaging.

I much imagine 99% of gun owners are very responsible in using their right to own a firearm.

One undeniable statement ... “ Shall Not Be Infringed Upon “ . It’s actually the only right in the whole thing that says it . Simple really .
