Our football stadium is among those that has now been identified as possibly needing a new name.

Early in the UF game. Then threw a pick the next play. Im a glutton for punishment watched a little of that game yesterdayThat's because he shortarmed all the passes to the running back in the flat or screens that would normally get that YAC. Also made his receiver have to check up on downfield throws instead of hitting them in stride. A twenty yard completion is great but not when it could have been a twenty-two yard catch and a 30 yard sprint to the end zone if the receiver was hit in stride. I can't remember which game it was but he overthrew a wide open Dominic Wood-Anderson on a seam route with nothing between him and the end zone 60 yards away.
That's not a good stat though. That means he rarely led his receivers so they could get YAC
That time to throw number is interestingNaaaw, I'm not sure that's the right interpretation. That's just beating up on the kid for the sake of beating up on him. The reason his number is high is he threw longer passes than the other QBs, on average. I think that's most probably scheme. Now if you wanted to say in throwing those longer passes he often couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, then I think that might be a somewhat accurate critique. jmo.
These are numbers from secstatcat:

I thought it was against Florida but couldn't remember for certain. Really deflated the team and set the tone early for that game. Those first few games last season were just one big series of nut-punches until Miss State.Early in the UF game. Then threw a pick the next play. I really hope that having some speedier receivers will allow him to get off some quick throws this year. I hate to blame Calloway and Jennings but neither one was torching anybody off the line. I believe Hyatt or Holiday one will make it into the lineup at receiver pretty quickly.Makes that uncatchable percent even more disheartening
My mother taught me a very valuable lesson when I was growing up. She raised 4 kids, by herself, while working two jobs. I wouldn't wish my childhood on anyone but my mother taught me to never worry about anything that I couldn't control. I live by that lesson every day and it's served me well. My advice to everyone would be the same-----quit worrying about shi* that you can't control. Your life will be much happier. I promise.I rant on VN..this is my someone..
Honestly, I hope you're right. JG's best games are from when we had a lot of 1 on 1 shots and he could throw it back shoulder to guys and let them go up and make a play. He needed to work this off season on throwing guys open and leading them, if he can get better at that then I think this team can be tough.I really hope that having some speedier receivers will allow him to get off some quick throws this year. Just watched the sequence again.I thought it was against Florida but couldn't remember for certain. Really deflated the team and set the tone early for that game. Those first few games last season were just one big series of nut-punches until Miss State.

My father in law is also in ICU due to several ongoing chronic issues, and he has taken a turn for the worse today...it looks like this may be the end if God doesn't move. He has been suffering for a long time.
I know I am salty and a lot of you don't like me, but if you could set that aside for a moment to pray I would appreciate it...we can get back to arguing and griping later..
This year absolutely sucks.
His first year he was behind the 8 ball and never really had a chance, got here after the season started. Last year after injuries and players leaving the team he was the next man up and got plenty of game experience. The kid has talented if he wants to be on the field this fall and listens to the coaching staff he will be on the field this fall. Why place that kind of expectation on someone who hasn't played or practiced in over a year, and has never shown the ability to be a starter?
I am very uneducated on Gen Neylands personal history but his military service and the fact that he coached in an era where fellow blacks weren’t really a part of it isn’t his fault.I am trying to determine how Neyland was racist towards student-athletes. Did Neyland coach any black athletes at UT?
